newbbguy, go to the FAQs and the link:

Just follow the directions exactly as posted there.

Well, I have only seen extremely rare occassions where it or jl_cmder did not work. Yours may be one of those, I just doubt it.

You don't say what happens, just that it doesn't work. What shows on the BB screen, does the red light come on at all... anything helpful?

sorry about that... no, light does not come on at all, bb screen doesn't show anything. it used to connect for about 5 sec when i plugged it in earlier, but when i tried apploader, it asked for a password, then i typed the wrong one too many times. now the computer won't even recognize it.. i have a new battery on the way to try with that..

ok, you told us all that in the first post.

So now the BB has no LED at all, the screen is black.

If you plug in a charger to the USB, what happens. Any LED lights?

Typing the password in wrong 10 times while the device is attached to Desktop Manager will remove the OS (painful education I learned helping one of my users).

Do you have the OS downloaded AND installed on your PC?

I would definately install the OS to your PC. Then apploader might work.

I got a new battery for it, and the led blinks very slowly now. so I tried the steps here: What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ
and now apploader will connect and start to erase and reinstall, but on the second step, waiting for device initialization, it disconnects and reconnects a couple times, and then gives the error code "unable to reconnect the device during a multi-stage load operation."
