Default Blackberry WebShortcuts

Please Login to Remove!

Ok....I have been fiddling with the blackberry webshortcuts application created by J.Fisher. While the concept for the application is great, is it compatible with the 4.5.0.x operating systems; and if so what about the 8820 specifically. I have followed all of the tutorials regarding the application yet it still remains unresponsive when it comes to downloading the images. Help much appreciated.

**moved to the Aftermarket Software section**

Why didn't you ask that question in that thread?

1. New to forum and didn't know about the thread
2. Every thread I have read regarding the software users have been on either 8100, 8700, or 8300s. No one seems to be using it 8800s
3. I am using 4.5 most of the post were written prior to that os release.

Yes, it's compatible with OS 4.5 and the 8820.

Have you gotten it to work; because it keeps saying downloading images. I have used several different urls including the one created by the original review of the application.

Use the later version that grabs the icons from your media card. The URL's are case sensitive. Are you hosting your own icons somewhere for download or trying to use someone else's? It's possible that the icons have been moved or taken down. I suggest using your own.

Not to butt in here on this thread but if you want to avoid the trouble I have a service to create shortcuts that only require you to provide some information and pay a couple of bucks and I will create it and you can install OTA.

Check it out at:

Open the "shortcut hub utility" and delete everything for the icon address so that area is blank. After this it will not say loading icon. The icons have never worked for me on this app either.
