I just got my BB8130 on Friday. The rep I spoke to while getting my new phone told me that I had to get the $44.99 plan even though I knew there was a $29.99 plan.
Demon - sending you a PM shortly, thanks for the help in advance!
edit: update after 15 mins on the phone with VZW, not only did the CSR I talked have no clue about the 'Email and Web for Blackberry' unlimited $29.99 plan but her supervisor didnt either. Thats pretty scary.

Desktop Redirector?
For various reasons I can't get my BB activated on the BES, so I use Desktop Redirector. Will the $30 plan work with Desktop Redirector as well?
Thanks,
Jay

I do use BIS for my personal e-mail on my Blackberry I haven't figured out how to get my company’s MS Exchange e-mail without using redirector, since they won’t give me access to the BES.

$80 VZW plan - does it include BES?
Quick question. I'm currently on a separate voice/data plan with VZW (i.e. voice + $45 for data), but thinking about upgrading my phone. Does the $79.99/month "BlackBerry® Nationwide Email" plan (450 voice + data combo) include BES service on the data side? I can't find the details on VZW's site...
Thanks in advance.

Not exactly sure, I know in order to take advantage of the 29.99 blackberry data plan, you have to be on BIS not BES.

Absolutely, this is the plan U have and I am also on BES.
Basically it boils down to a $39.99 calling plan and $40.00 data plan so you basically save five bucks.
What can $5 buy you these days?

Unless the blackberry service has changed, you should be able to add an email account that uses Outlook Web Access (OWA) for Exchange. When you put in your username, password, and the OWA site address it should automatically connect. If your company doesn't use OWA, then shame on them! Hope that helps.

VZW BB Solution Unlimited Data still $44.99 !!!
I was all excited when I was reading the price drop from VZW. However, the Blackberry Solution Unlimited Data plan is still $44.99, as shown in attachment. I just copied this from VZW this moment.

I was just looking in my online Verizon account page and had hoped to make the data plan change directly through the website.
It doesn't list the "Web and email for blackberry" plan for $29. Just the $24 10meg limited plan.
Is the only way to go with the BIS $29 plan to call VZW or go in person to a store?
Thanks.

I would just call. I usually call about this time and I don't think i've been on the phone longer then a few minutes. You want the Unlimited Web and Email for Blackberry, or BIS for $29.99

I use a BES at work, and I have unlimited Voice & unlimited Data for $130.00 ($99.99 for phone and $29.99 for data)

Does/Can the VZW BB package (either one) replace the VZW Broadband. I am far more interested in connecting to the net, via bluetooth.
I have an n810 internet tablet, which connects to my chocolate via bluetooth, to access the net when I am outside a WiFi Hotspot, $59/month. If I can piggyback the BB for half that price....

To share my experience on the discount data plan:
I called VZ twice today. The first time I call to request a switch to the 29.99 plan, the CSR did not know about it. She promised to get back to me by 4pm today - sure...
I called back again a few moments ago and the CSR knew exactly what I was referring to and was even astute enough to say "so you are not on a corporate email network?". WOOHOO. She switched me to the correct plan.

When I did this months ago, I asked them why I have been paying the higher price for months and what would they do to compensate me. Not sure how much $$ they refunded but they will do something for you.
