Default Visual Voicemail with Tmobile?

Please Login to Remove!

I just updated to the official 5.0 OS today, and would like to know how to make visual voice mail work. I have the icon for it on my phone now, but when clicked it takes me to Tmobiles site. There's a link to activate visual voice, but clicking on that link tells me I can't do it and need to contact Tmobile. Suggestions?

Go to tmobile.com from a computer and turn the service on.

I think you might have to select 9700 as ur device to make the option available.

Maybe I'm just dense, but I cannot find any link on my Tmobile account to activate it. When I try to do it using my phone, it just tells me "cannot be completed"

ltj13 is correct. I just did it and VVM is now on my 8900. Here were the steps:

1. Login to your My T-mobile account at T-Mobile website

2. Change your phone to the Blackberry Bold 9700

3. In the column on the far right, under "Services on this phone", click "edit these services".

4. Scroll down and select the Visual Voicemail service (which now appears in the list), click the green "Change services" button and follow the prompts to add the service.

5. After a few minutes, your service books will be automatically updated. Afterwards, when you click on the VVM icon you will see a list of VVMs for all existing VMs you had previously saved, and presumably any new VMs will also have a corresponding VVM.

This is what I did, hopefully it'll work for you:

when you sign on and get to the first screen for your tmobile, go to "MANAGE", click on "Plans and Services"

that should bring you to the "your name" plan and "your name" services tabs, click on "change services", and you should see a "free" tab for visual voice.

It looks like the voicemails are saved to the phone's internal memory. Is there a way to have them saved to the memory card?

I tried to do this but, they said I couldn't add the feature to the$19.99 BlackBerry Plan and that I had to move to the new $24.99 plan :(

After we activate VVM through T-Mobile do we switch the phone back to the 8900 or do we need to keep it as the 9700 for it to work?

Now I'm on to Google Voice. It transcribes your messages for you. It's not the most accurate transcription, but you can the gist of voicemails -- they can actually be pretty funny.
