Unhappy What is the hard drive capacity for the 8700?

Please Login to Remove!

Note...My BB is on its way to me now, and I'm trying to learn a bit before it gets here..

Okay, I've looked everywhere trying to figure out what the hard drive capacity of the BB 8700c is?

I know the "internal memory" is 64mb, but this would be the RAM I would certainly think.

From what I understand, the 8700 series does not use an SD storage cards...so what is the hard drive capacity for file saving inside the unit? For example, can I save 1gig of files to the unit?

Most of the gig of files are Excel and Word documents, and I'll be purchasing the DynoPlex eOffice Basic software suite to handle those documents fully.

Thanks!!!!

There is no hard drive on any blackberry. Total memory is 64MB Flash memory for the 8700c.

Okay, so if I put files (or other software for that matter) on the 8700c ,it better be well below 64 megabytes, correct?

Looks like I better forget about loading this thing up with a bunch of graphic-intensive files?

Thanks brother.

you got it. you should have gotten the 8100 which supports micro sd, or you can wait till the 8800 series. blackberries are not good for graphic-intensive files .

I currently have 24MB free on my 8703e (which also has 64MB total).

Dynoplex does have a hosting solution that will allow you to store your documents on a server and access them with the BlackBerry OTA.

Beautiful. I'll check out that website you mentioned. Yeah, I'll definitely keep my eye on the 8800 that I've heard about...I haven't even gotten my first BB, and I'm already eyeing the next upgrade!

You do realize it won't run applications other than ones designed for BB

Oh yeah, I totally realize that. Here are the applications I plan to run on the 8700c as of now:

Quotestream, for streaming stock quotes
DynoPlex eOffice, for Word and Excel document processing
