Ntgert is correct, I called the Mckinney store and they received five yesterday and they only have one left. the salesman said they flew out the door. He would not let me purchase with credit card over the phone because it is against store policy. He hahs to have your credit card in the store to charge against it.
I am in DC so that did not work. the store here in DC said the stores on the Northeast corridor are scheduled to get their shipments on Tuesday

There are plenty all over DFW. The store in Grapevine still had their entire allotment and had no problems selling one to me -- though they were apologetic that they couldn't give me the rebate.

Pics
I feel like I am on some kind of game show. My wife took my camera, so I had to find one of my kids, which I did. THEN, it took me a while to figure out where the stupid sim card goes. I had to actually resort to looking in the manual. IT DIDNT SAY A WORD ABOUT THE SIM CARD. I know, what kind of man am I that I have to look at a manual. Anyway, finally figured that out. But, under all this pressure, it is the best I could do.... ha
Just one for starters. I don't know how to use this camera to get the picture size small enough so that it will be acceptable on the forums limits. Give me a minute.

SIM instructions are in the Getting Started Guide. There are two manuals. I have stickyd that thread and will leave it there for a few weeks while this action gets going.

Easiest way if you have it installed is Microsoft Picture manager. Use the resize tool and then the compress tool and then save as. It will show you dimensions and kb after you run the commands.

Picture clearly shows a case - not a holster. Hard to tell what headphones are in it. Stereo or not.

Comes with holster/belt clip-decent, regular bb headphone, mono, ac adapter, sync cable, it was $499. In the Getting Started Guide that I have there are no instructions for the sim card insert, only the media card. Unless I am in such a hurry scanning through that book that I have missed it.

ntegrt - How about a micro-review of the keyboard usability? Try typing a short paragraph and give us your opinion on tactile feedback, typing accuracy (that kind of thing)??

Does it have the at&t splash screen on startup or a cingular one?
This stinks. I'm up in Mammoth right now and thought it'd be a nice distraction until I got back on Tuesday. Then I could go get my 8800. But people are getting them now!
I wonder if there's a Cingular store here in town...hmmm...lol

Looks like a Cingular homescreen to me. Congrats on having the very first, you deserve a sticky for sure. I am jealous and went to both my cingular stores and they both say they should be comming in on Monday.

I too am in Dallas, an ntegrt pinned me when he got his this morning.
I just came from a Cingular CORPORATE store (Cedar Hill, Texas), and they have them - each store seems to have rec'd 3-5 on yesterday. I was turned away from purchasing because I refused to open a Cingular mobile account - they wouldn't sell it to me outright for $499.
Scrubs.
If anyone in Dallas finds a store that will sell it 499 w/o contract - let me know. Thanks.
PS. it does come with a leather holster, as well as headphones and travel charger (folding). The phone was beautiful.
