What color is the actual unit. Is it black or does it have the same blue tint as the T-mobile 8700. Thanks and congrats!

Thanks. I was hoping it'd have that theme they show on the website too. But, like you said, it'll probably be a download after the release.

Is the 8800's trackball any larger than the Pearl's?

2 - The keys are a bit too close together, however, this does not pose a problem at all (even for my - lets say - chubby fingers).

3 - The body looks a lot more sleeker and more professional than the 8700 that I currently have. It also seems more durable

Heavier? Fits the hand better vs 8700?

4 - OS is F A S T. If you have had experienced some lag in Pearl and or 8700, you'll soon forget it. This 8800 is very smooth, fast, and clean.

All new virgin [lacking 3rd-party apps, data connections, etc] devices seem fast by comparison. Remember, it has the same processor as the 8700.

Comes with four themes, BB Dimension Icon, BB Dimension Today, BB Dimension Zen, Cingular(the one in my first pic). I think we all are familiar with those, nothing new.

any chicago stores have em?
so far no luck finding one. Sales reps keep saying the Pearl is the newest device not the 8800. I keep telling them they ave a new BB being released. Why are they clueless?

No, no no.....this unit is blue dark tint blue. It's the furthest from black you can get in my opinion. ANd it is NOT the finger print type stuff that the Pearl is. It's more of a matte finish and finger prints are hard to see at all.....

Okay, some more input:-
Connected to laptop. Works like a charm. Connected Bluetooth, no problems at all. GPS works very well, and its amazingly fast, compared to GPS unit on HP Ipaq HW6945 Pocket PC.
The trackball is about the same size as Pearl, just looks a bit spread out due to the casing around it.
It feels a bit heavier than 8700, but that could just be me. The grip is solid though, and you can definitely keep a track of the phone in your pocket (ie. not lose it and not know about it).
Screen - let me tell you guys about the screen. It is sharp as anything. Crystal clear pictures, amazing brightness, and text looks a lot better than it did on 8700 or the Pearl.
