What does your SYNC logs (located in C:Program Files\Research in Motion\Blackberry Enterprise Server\Logs) indicate?
Have you tried restarting the BlackBerrySync service?

Default Logs and Services

I already tried to restart the services. They are all running. Checked the logs and not really sure what I am looking at, but didnt' see anything related to errors.

Should I upgrade to 4.1? Which I don't want to if I can help it.

You should upgrade to something higher than 4.0 gold ... perhaps 4.0 SP7.

You could try disabling wireless pim sync and then re-enabling it for yourself. Perhaps try deleting the SYNC service book and then undeleting it.

Default Express

I think I am running Express. Can I still find updated patches to that version? i looked and could only find the new version. on the About section of my BES is just says Enterprise server. It doesn't say anything about express.

Tried disabling sync and re-enabling. no luck. How do i delete sync service boot and undelete?

Thanks

on the HH ... Options > Advanced Options > Service Books

Select the service book, choose delete, push the trackwheel in again and choose undelete

BES Express is the same codebase as the "non-express" version. Get the appropriate service pack here: BlackBerry - BlackBerry Downloads | Desktop Software Applications, Enterprise Server, Games & Ring Tones

ok, in your first post you said you're running BES 4.0.0.116 ... but that is 4.0 ... you said you downloaded SP7, but you're current? I don't get how that could be.

Go to Add / Remove Programs, Select BES, and then 'Click here for support information' ... what version is there?

And you've since deleted / undeleted the service book and also tried resending your service books?

Next I'd wipe and reactivate

Default Activation Woes

now I can't seem to get the device activated. Could the activation fail because of poor cell phone coverage?

I get through a bit of the activation then it fails.

ARG Friday afternoon frustrations!!

Most definitely could be poor coverage. Best way to test is first try to place a call, second SMS someone, third PIN someone.

Then you're testing Voice / data / blackberry data.

Default Coverage

Finally took the activation after I left my office and was driving around town.Strange. Contacts seem to be syncing again.

Thanks for your guidance.

Also, were do I change the download setting for the device? Want to have entire emails sent down and don't want to "more all" for every message.

Thanks
SGM

Unfortunately this is just how BES works. It sends the first 2k of data and then you need to 'more' / 'more all'
