I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. This is my first Blackberry phone. Previous phones have been HTC smartphones running Windows Mobile. I never had trouble setting up and accessing NAS drives on my Home Network.

Over the last few weeks I don't seem to be getting anywhere on the Torch with this. I am beginning to wonder if I have to purchase some special software. I can access my network via my router and the router recognises the Torch but that is about as far as it goes.

Any ideas?

That's as far as it goes.
You can't access drives on the network with a blackberry.

I though a Blackberry more than any other would, as a matter of fact, be able to accss NAS drives. Its patch is business. Downloading your files and with FTP should be second nature. Can't understand why not. There is obviously something I am missing.

Pader-Sync also advertises an SMB client for Blackberry: http://www.pader-sync.com/mobile-smb-client.html

I test drove a free demo a few devices ago. I seemed to do the job, but after setting it up it sat around unused until the demo ran out. But if you want to access network shares it may do the job for you.
