Default Maybe Stick With OS 4.6?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a little concerned about the issues with the new firmware version 5.0. Given the issues already stated in this forum, I wonder if it would be better to stick with 4.6 before upgrading to 5.0?

If you device works as you want and need, may it isn't broken and doesn't require fixing?

I would say you are of sound thought for now anyway. I am doing the same thing, gonna stick with 4.6 a bit longer.

i would argue that your device is slow on 4.6 and needs fixing. the type of fixing that the new .461 build can dish out. seriously, i was on .411 for a while and just found .461 last night... its a hell of a lot faster, and lighter on memory and battery.

you can always make a full backup and restore to your old OS if you dont like OS 5.0.

I highly recommend upgrading to 5.0.461. Night and day difference.

Every one of my friends who has installed it has been extremely pleased and would never go back to 4.6.

Heck, I've had zero problems with .411, but will be going with .461 because of all the positive comments. I always found 4.6 to be slow; not so with .411, and it's looking like .461 is even faster.

I recently upped from 4.6 to 5.0.411. There's no difference in battery life at all. It's no faster. There are some new features, like visual voice mail, ability to resize pix that you send via email, cool transitions when you change screens, some other small things involving the menus, most of them nice. There is one bug, the phone will often times freeze if I start charging it when the screen has gone to sleep. For that reason I will upgrade again to .461 as that bug has been fixed there.
