Ok..I have an 8700 running v4.10.194 (platform 2.0.0.90) and an IBM T43 laptop. I can't get my T43 to pair with my bluetooth device. When I try to pair I get an "error pairing" message. I have tried initiating the pairing from the 8700 to the pc and viceversa. I can get the screen to request the pin code which I enter as 0000.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. As an FYI...I have an earpiece HS850 from motorola that pairs just fine with my phone. I have also tried pairing the earpiece with the PC and worked a couple of times except now the pc keeps kicking off the earpiece after it's discovered and paired.
Help?
BTW....the cingular, IBM and berry webpages don't have much of anything in the way of documentation. maybe I have been looking in the wrong place?
I have a T42p and an 8700g. You have to NOT use the IBM Bluetooth drivers. You actually need to uninstsall them and let XP take over. I know...scary thought...but I did it and they now pair like a champ.
I have seen no disadvantage to using the XP Bluetooth software.
Also, search this forum for more info about ThinkPads and Bluetooth pairing.
