Just got an unlocked 8220 upgrading from Moto.. I'm gonna be using AT&T; gonna lurk for a while.

I'm not in a BB data plan.. hoping to configure the Wifi option to work with my MediaNet account. since the unit's just for personal gadgetry.

I've found the AT&T link fos a OS download, but an 8220 is not listed; is it the same as a 8120 or 8320? + will that app lock-out some features of my un-locked unit?

I can see this place is gonna be fun.

No, you can only install OS's for your device model (8220), it does not matter the carrier. Here is the most recent official release for your device : http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

To install an OS released by a different carrier, you would need to delete the vendor.xml file. The steps to do so are in the link provided.

Only 8220 got-it.
downloading JL commander + OS.

I'll have to learn the BB format of doing things.. Motos were easier(?) I could get away with alot.

After much searching and stickies I think I'm happy.
To date: 222 OS, GoogleMaps, OperaMini, WiFi, GPRS, MMS, YouTubed, Pimp'd, Soft reset, etc.
w/ generic data plan.
