I think you have just been lucky if every user took it first time but don't knock it! They will have an hour difference till you cal re-base so you should tell them not to create/accept a mtg in the DST window till the cal patch.
Question, the calendar update thing, is that a patch that goes on the Exchange server, because the only thing I touch is the BES, I have no control over Exchange.

Then IMHO you need to get hold of your Exch admins asap and talk to them I'm afraid. The Exch cal tool is something they have to sit and manage unless your org chooses not to do it and have users cal re-base themselves against outlook. they will be aware of it but have to work to your schedule on this. You should be working with your Exch guys on this stuff as the order you patch is critical (say RIM and MS but others here have broken the order without seeing any issues _yet_).

Use the run order in this doc as your bible.

Well, we are screwed then apparently. Before this doc ever came out we had already completed step 1, 2, and 5 as part of normal updating for the company. This "send as" permission was apparently something that showed up a long time ago as we have had this problem with new users put into the system for months, all it takes to fix it one check box checked in Exchange and we have had a system in place for this for months.

Well, MS is frickin killing me. Check out this KB that came out yesterday. Now it appears thatupdate 926666 isn't supposed to be run until after running the exchange update tool. Maybe I'm reading this wrong.

Double Serenity now!!!

Well as noted on THIS page a bit back it depends on how your organization access Exchange. If you have alot of OWA users, then yeah MS recommends you run the DST patch to Exchange after you run the calendar update tool. Otherwise the original order is still listed.

If I haven't mentioned it before... the Exchange Calendar Update is the biggest hack job tool I've seen come out of MS recently. It looks like one person spent like 5 minutes putting it together. It's the only way I can explain how "basic" it is.

To MS:
IT folks like user friendly stuff TOO you know, and this tool is anything but!

Undecided if I'm gonna try 2.3. when it's released. Might just use the newer version of the query tool for more accurate results. Also might wait to see if there will be yet another [foul language Ninja'd by Filter-Bot] patch to the patch of the patch!

totally. You have to decide who is more liekly to manage mtgs, BB users or OWA users and patch accordingly. We decided that while we have less BB users, they are more likely to play with meetings so we did the BBs first and will then go BES CDO and then cal re-base.

I have no OWA users. So you think this order will be fine.

Update all servers: DONE
Update all Workstations: DONE
Push out BB patch: Between now and the weekend (Looks like all took the update)
Apply Exchange DST patch: THIS WEEKEND
Apply Exchange DST patch to BES: THIS WEEKEND
Run Exchange Calendar Tool: THIS WEEKEND

If I don't do this this weekend I really only have next Saturday to do this as our organization in running 24 hours a day during the week?

Thanks

PS After this is all said and done I say we plan to all meet in Seattle or wherever and Kitchener and kick the butts of MS and RIM.

Ok, please bear with me as I am an Avaya programmer that got stuck with the BES server when I was hired. I am trying to run the dstquery thing but I don't know what the command line should look like, should it start like:

F:\>dst2007query.exe -n blah blah?

Ah shuddup. You don't even run Exchange, your life is bliss :-> I thought a Filter-bot would be nothing to a Telecom Sith Lord

stu I've kinda noted this but never really got it clarified... updating the BES CDO is as simple as just running the KB926666 on the BES or do I need to manually copy over the Exchange cdo.dll and register it?

Not quite. It depends on where you have the query.exe on your system.
For me, I placed the exe in a folder on the desktop called "query."
The query tool is also run from the RUN command line and not the CMD command line.

So here is what the syntax of mine looks like:
"C:\Documents and Settings\blackberry\Desktop\query\DST2007Query.exe " -n *SERVERNAME* -db besmgmt -b all -OL "C:\Documents and Settings\blackberry\Desktop\query"

This query tool is crap. I couldn't get the boxtone tool to work so I ran the RIM tool. I have 49 users. It lists 28 users that are upgraded and tells me 21are not. I check the list for the users and find one that is not listed. I assume they are one of the 21 not upgraded. I go to their BB and check options and the dst patch states it has been applied successfully.

Ugh!

Thumbs down Filters

Hello,

The issue is filters on the devices dissapearing after the patch is applied.

We pushed the patch manager out to devices yesterday and we are now seeing that filters are "blown away" by the patch manager / 2007 patch. I am on hold currently with RIM (1 hour and waiting) to see what can be done before we push out to our other 800+ Blackberry's. Has anyone else seen this happen in their environment with the filters disappearing?

Where are you and are you going to be online Sunday? I may change my plan from Saturday to Sunday. We can commiserate and curse the MS action together

I'm in MD and I'll be doing all our patching Sunday 7am. I'll be floating from the server rm to my desktop PC(right around the corner) to continue to check out things here and on RIM and MS' site.

7AM is frickin early. I'll be in about 9am. Leave me an update about how the process is going, etc. if you don't mind.

Thanks

Exclamation 0x8D HELP PLZ!!!

Has anyone gotten the 0x8D error yet?? The patch went through great on the Pearl, but this is a 7150T
I tried calling RIM, but there were 87 calls ahead of me!!
We're installing this wirelessly (which means there's VERY little documentation for errors) via the BES..
On the device itself, it does have a listing for "2007DST Patch", but in there all it says "Error installing 2007 DST patch."
I have tried re-downloading it from the device, but no luck.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm on Lotus Notes 6.5.5 if that matters..

No prob. Yeah believe me it's early for me to but I like to come in that early whenever I have stuff that needs to be done around here so I can get it done and still have the rest of my day, even if that means I have to take a nap at some point in the afternoon. ;)
