Default I Forgot My Password!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

Yesterday, my girlfriend told me to put a password on my phone, and as soon as I did, i kinda forgot what it was, and used up my ten tries, as soon as I got the last one wrong, I took my battery out...

Was just wondering, how do I get my phone to work again? I don't mind losing my data, as long as my phone is working again.

Please help, any help is appreciated.

Put in the password wrong 10 times. It will just wipe out the data.

I would suggest using a password you can't forget in the future...maybe your girlfriend's name, perhaps?

So if I put the battery in, it will only wipe my data? it's not gonna get locked or anything? I'm really scared... I don't got no other phone to use right now.

No, the 10 wrong tries only delete data.

I'd recommend regular backups....

Honestly... hard to say what it will do since you pulled the battery during the wipe.
The OS might be corrupt at this point and may need to be reloaded.

well don't you need to enter "blackberry" for the wipe-out process to begin?

okay now my phone has gone mental, I put the battery back in like a few minutes ago, and for some reason nothing but the red signal light goes off, and now after a bit... It say's charging... I never knew a battery dies so damn quick.

Wirelessly posted (BOLD)

I thought after the 10th time it wipes the OS also not just the data

Yeah, I'm loading the optus OS now... Dislike 3/Hutichison OS... Is there a problem if I load the wrong carrier on?

No, only the data, preferences, calendar items, address book, etc.

Unless you pull the battery in the middle of the wipe as was mentioned just above, that is unpredictable.

Doesn't matter. If the release numbers are the same, it's the same OS regardless of the carrier which released it.

good luck.

No. The wipe occurs after the final incorrect password attempt.
