Question Outlook Calendar Sync?

Please Login to Remove!

Is it possible to sync just your Outlook Calendar and not your email? I do not have access to BES at my work, (nor do I believe I have the authority to access email through my BB) but would like to have access to my calendar which pretty much has my life on it. If possible, how do I go about doing so? Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Yes.
In fact, through your desktop manager, you can sync your calendar and or contacts and or tasks and or memopad

Cute response.

DM can't be installed on my work computer since .exe files can't be run without admin rights.

So back to the issue....?? How to sync without DM?

You can sync your Outlook calendar to Google calendar and then sync Google calendar to your BB. My BB, Google calendar and Outlook calendar are always in sync and it happens OTA- no wires and automatic.

You need google sync for BB:
Google Sync (BlackBerry Devices) : Features - Mobile Help Center

You also need Outlook-google sync available in the same help are of Google

You will also need to download Google Sync to your PC to have it sync with that device.

So it sounds like there is still a need to run an exe file on the computer with the Outlook calendar? That won't work in my case since I don't have admin rights on the computer.

I actually have a BES BB...but I'm wanting to get a personal BB as well. However my calendar at work has all my personal AND business stuff and I was hoping to find a solution to getting my work calendar on my personal device.

I have GooSync installed on the BES BB and it is syncing new stuff to my Google calendar...but it doesn't help for existing stuff or stuff that I change. It's only good for stuff that someone else sends me. I don't have the personal device yet so don't know for sure if it will, in fact, sync to my personal BB after coming up from my BES BB.

I thought that was what I said.

You need two sync items:
1. Google sync for BB to Google (link above)

2. Google Calendar sync for Outlook to Google sync(can be found in same help area of link above)

If you cannot run the Google calendar sync on the PC that has outlook then this solution will not work for you- sorry. I don't know anything about BES so I am out of ideas.

Thanks...this might be getting off topic...

But I can access my calendar via OWA. Is it possible to set up Outlook on my home computer to access work calendar via OWA? Does that even make sense? Can I set up Outlook at home to use an OWA Exchange? I'm thinking no as that would make the solution far easier in my case. Nothing I ever want to do seems easy.

You might be trying too hard. Is your goal to have your work calendar constantly updated on a personal BB even though you already have a BB on the BES with your work calendar?

What version of Desktop Manager allows you to do this. I have the newest version and I am having trouble figuring out what to do. Any instruction is appreciated.

I have DM 4.3. Go to Sync, hit the configure tab at the top of the screen. For the option 'configure synchronization settings for your desktop organizer program', hit the button Configure synch. Choose the options you would like to include. Hit ok. Go back to the synchronize tab, choose appropriate options (i usually check the sychronize organizer data box) hit the button labeled 'sychronize now'. Voila!
