Definitely WiFi. Rogers data plan sucks! I have GPS bluetooth receiver. It is even better than built in GPS because I don't have to hold my BB close to window when driving.

We really have three choices:

Camera + GPS (8310)
Camera + WiFi (8320)
GPS + WiFi (8820)

To me, camera is the least useful feature, so I'll be going with GPS+WiFi.

You can of course have GPS through Bluetooth on 8320 to get all three, but it's an extra device to carry and my company disables Bluetooth data.

You dont have to hold your gps near the window. Once it acquires the satellites it doesnt need direct sight to the satellites.

free wifi in my area is very very slow and i can imagine would be worthless for voip. also the browser is soo bad on the BB that browsing speeds would not be affected too much. I use my GPS much more frequently that want to surf on the BB.

Although it would be handy to have the GPS available on the BB, I'm sure it's not even comparable to my Garmin 60CSx. I'm not spacially challenged either so as long as I can have a look at a map -- Google Maps -- I'm good to go. Given all that, I guess it's pretty obvious I'd choose the Wifi. If I didn't have a stand-alone GPS I'm pretty sure I'd still go for the Wifi, though.

I'm not sure I understand why. Are you going to full HTML sites on your Blackberry? To me, the device is not well suited (from a form factor standpoint) for general web browsing, which is where I would want WiFi. For my Blackberry I browse to support specific business functions, and the speed is great (Weather Underground, Delta, Southwest, ESPN, Gmail -- all have Bb enable sites that fly).

I kind of giggle everytime I see those iPhone adds that push getting the "whole" internet on your phone. I've had Cingular and Edge isn't very impressive for WAP sites, much less anythng else.

Voted neither. I can purchase an external GPS puck and the WiFi wouldn't really be of any use to me as I don't use the phone that much, and it probably wouldn't really increase the browsing speed. My 8700g works just fine right now.

Me -- I prefer GPS over WiFi. The reception is so good around here, and WiFi isn't going to speed things up. If I need WiFi, I'll use my laptop for that instead. Although WiFi may save on Canadian data, I'm already on the $100 data plan which, while expensive, does give me enough download to surf to my heart's content now...

Try Opera Mini 4 -- I find it a little faster than BlackBerry Browser. Its user interface is unfamiliar, but as long as I avoid the scrollwheel (and use the 2/4/6/8 keys to scroll around, and 5 to zoom in/out ala Wii/iPhone style), I also find it loads webpages faster than BlackBerry browser does, if image compression is turned to a high level.

I would like both, but would buy WiFi over GPS.

I have a Garmin nuvi, and it can work in places that mobile coverage may not go. GPS-on-board-Blackberry would be convenient for travel in areas with dense cellular service coverage. That would allow me to travel without the nuvi on most of my business travel.

The WiFi with TMO UMA is a higher priority because of poor cell coverage in some locations that I work, and because of international travel where I can usually bring along a router.

I'd like to have a device with both WiFi and GPS, but the availability of a WiFi/UMA model on TMO will be enough for me to change from my 8700.

I think I would pick the WiFi. I don't feel like taking on another bill for GPS. Last I checked TelNav was $9.99 a month for a BlackBerry. Now with Sprint it's included in the $25 datapack for free with unlimited useage..

People who think WiFi can let them have free of charge blackberry service are kidding themselves.

For a fee, there is not much benefit of having WiFi if you use blackberry for emails and occasional web browsing.

i guess you're right that the web experience isn't great still..but i surprisingly use it a lot to lookup information ....i get aggrivated that the speed is so slow...wifi would help there.

Regardless....GPS is still right now the leader for me...although many have brought up good points for the wifi

I would like to have wifi equipped BB also. My job is about to deploy voip in our bldg. It would help walking around my building esp on dead spots. Also it would cut off companies cellphone bills too.
