Default Bluetooth headset: Waiting to Connect

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry 8310. Have had it since October 2008.

Bluetooth headset is Samsung WEP200. Up until 1 week ago, it worked perfectly. Today it cannot connect to the Blackberry.

Thinking that the headset had simply quit working, I bought a new one (Jabra BT2010). I removed all devices connected via bluetooth, disabled bluetooth, and then enabled bluetooth.

Upon attempting to reconnect, it allows entry of the PIN. Upon entering PIN, the "Waiting for Bluetooth headset" box appears, and never goes away. I allowed this to continue for an hour and it cannot complete the connection. Thus, on homepage the tiny symbol appears that shows the bluetooth symbol and the little arrows next to it, it still cannot complete the connection; i.e., I cannot use the headset for making calls or listening to voicemail.

Obviously, this is highly irritating. I've done everything that can be done, and the few suggestions I've read on forums I've already tried.

Default Never mind

I forgot one of the simple things to try (DOH!).

Took out battery and put it back in. Everything now works fine.

His blackberry is on non RIM hardware (accessory) though.

And I have found 3 RIM BT devices that like to be power cycled and then goto discover mode after. Before power cycle it just would knot work. Even had similar issue with a BT keyboard and mouse on a PC. Guess it all needs a reboot after a while.
