Default Where are you getting your 7130c???

Please Login to Remove!

I want to play around with one before I order one through my company. I've tried a few stores in NYC and in NJ and none seem to have any in stock, or even a demo for me to play with.

Are you guys seeing them in stores?

I've seen them in all the stores in the boston area. I have not seen a Cingular Kiosk that has one yet...but they should get them in a few weeks. I can't believe a full Cingular store in NYC doesn't have it yet.

I bought mine in a Cingular Corporate store here in the Philadelphia area.

I'd be very surprised to if Cingular Corporate stores (not dealers) in NYC didn't have them yet.

How do you tell the difference between a corporate store and a dealer?

Go on the Cingular web site and hit the "store locator" link.

Plug in your zip code.

The ones that say "Cingular Wireless" should be Corporate Stores. The ones that say "Cingular Wireless Authorized Retailer" should be dealers.

By that definition, one of the stores that I've been checking on a daily basis (its across the street from my apt) is a Corporate Store. They have always been shrugging and saying they are waiting for it to come in (the signage is already up).

Another store out in Jersey that I checked today also comes up as a corporate store. They didn't have it either. They had no signage, and the lady working there said Cingular hadn't released it yet. I said, "Uhh yes they have" and walked out.

I got mine at a regular Cingular store (not a reseller aka Radio Shack) on my first try.

I got lucky because they sold out of the few they had in stock all while I was there (about half hour).

I live in San Francisco and got mine at the store on Vanness near Ellis. The Market near 3rd store supposedly had quite a few in stock as of Sunday.

diegosalinas,

I've recently had to relocate to San Francisco. Can you suggest a decent corporate store?

I've so far only visited the one on Market/3rd, and the one on Union St. The one on Market was always full and left me with a mixed feeling.

If I pick up a 7130c, I want to pick one up from a place where I can carefully inspect the unit (no missing items from the box, no dust under the screen, no obvious mechanical defects) without getting funny stares or angry looks.

I got mine at a corporate store in Oklahoma. I went to the store on June 10th and they would have sold it to me, but I decided to wait until the blackberry personal price went down on the 12th so they put my name on it and I got it on the 12th for $199 and then a $50 MIR. Pretty Good Deal!

the one i went to is on vanness near ellis next to burger king....i bought mine there this past saturday.

not sure if they have any in the store but i put the guy through the ringer with my requests...took it out of the box, looked at everything...

the guy was patient b/c he knew he was getting a sale...not very knowledgeable but he let me do what i wanted. his name is mitchell.

I'm not looking to purchase one at the store, or at all really.... My company has a huge account with Cingular and we have an extranet store where I can get it for free w/ voice&data I just wanted to play with it in a store first before I ordered it.

I'm not so sure the size benefits are worth the suretype trade off.

The phone performs great. It just bothers me when I type words like, "see" and they come out as, "are".

Not sure I'm going to return it but, I'm considering it.

I hear you.

I went back to my 8700. Still have the 7130c sitting hear and think about going to back to it every day but haven't yet. Typing is just much easier for me on the 8700 and I prefer the screen of the 8700 too.

Well, I made up my mind. It's up for sale in the B/S/T forum.
