Highly doubt it. Since the music player began shipping with 4.2.0 on the 8100, continued to 4.2.1 on the 8800, and it's not present in 4.2.1 on the 8700 I doubt it's coming from RIM

The 8700 doesn't have removeable memory. You don't have enough storage to make it useful.

true but this question mite be a little pointless but what exactually is the extra slot under the battery next to the sim card holder for?
