Yes I'm aware the story is a week old. It also came out after the start of this thread and hasn't been mentioned. I just posted it for those who don't feel like combing the internet looking for info.

I think that is misleading the pre will be out at the end of the 6 months because thats when sprints exclusivity runs out but the tour is gonna be out July 13th and the Storm 2 by august/sept. Now they may switch those two devices release date but thats what a close friend of mine is saying and he is a best buy mobile regional manager

That is totally rediculous imo. Such an early release - how about solving issues with Storm 1 and providing a wife adaptor at least.

Its hard to check store models. It may have an OLD OS or malfunctioning from customer usage.,

Okay, I'm sold on the Tour. My wife, my daughter and I all have a Storm. They like them, I do not. Any thoughts on how I can migrate to a Tour without paying through the nose?

Is there an update yet on when the Storm 2 will be released in the US?

Thanks,

whenimcool,

What's your current contract situation? I'm guessing that the Tour will go for $200 after some rebates and contract renewal. It'll probably be $600 without the discounts. These are just guesses, I don't have anything other than what is out on the various blogs and forums.

$200 seems pretty reasonable for a top of the line phone, the Bold, Pre and iPhone both are going for those rates, if I recall correctly.

200 probably is reasonable, but I hope it's cheaper then that, the 8330 was only 150 upon release, granted it's different technology but it was latest/greatest at it's time.

I'll be buying for anything under $299, but they won't get a great reception unless they break $199. If they could launch at $150, they'd probably just be giving back a lot of money that people would be willing to pay. I wouldn't be surprised to see a price drop 90 days after launch to $150. If I were in charge, that's how I would do all of these devices. You get fanatics paying top dollar, any everyone else gets spurred to move a few months later. Maybe another drop to $99 once it hits 1-year post release? Who knows?

Well, unfortunately I just got these three Storms with a two year contract on each one this past February. I sure don't want to pay $600 for a Tour, however. Thanks.

Wirelessly posted

Having seen the Tour today. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. I had the LG Voyager when it came out, loved the touch, just needed more capabilities. I moved to the Curve, the phone I have now. I love this phone even tho it isn't a touch screen. I have a couple of friends who got the storm recently I liked that device, but knew another was on the way' so I was waiting. Today at the store I played around with the Tour. I love that device.

Please have a look on this site , it contatins many RIM BB that will come.
I have a bold and looking for a newer one that have 3G but also have to be wider and hence bigger/separate keys on the keyboard.

Either the Bold 9220 ( Magnum) or the Bold 9900 (Pluto) .
Is any of these coming soon ?

The site is called PDAdb.net , and you can chose pdalist and find all RIM mobile.

So I did a small early comparison between the Storm 2 vs Tour on my blog

hxxp://bestblackberry.com/9630-vs-9520-blackberry-tour-vs-storm-2-comparison-specs-features-price/

Overall, I think that the Storm 2 is BB Tour with Wi-Fi and Touchscreen. While Touchscreen is something that some people might dislike, I think that we all agree that Wi-Fi is such a nice feature. However, I want to wait the official price tag of the Storm 2... What is the price gap between the two? That is one of the most important factor for me....
Or maybe I'll just wait for the BB Bold 9700 Onyx? Any suggestion?

Yesterday when I was in the local VZ store, the Rep told me that they expect to have the Storm 2 in the first week of October which isn't anything that new. I have to say that the software updates for the Tour have really improved the device.

There really isn't anything substantial in the Storm 2 that would make me return the Tour (within 30 days), other than maybe the wifi. In the NYC area Verizon 3G is really spot on but just not having wifi in my device whether or not I use it somehow bothers me. Also, my wife I got the Buy One Get One Free so, unless the Storm 2 is priced at $150 after upgrade I am not sure if getting two phones for say $199 each is better than $75 each as we just did.
