Default Going to store today to swap Tours

Please Login to Remove!

I need to swap for a new Tour today, so I'm wondering about using the Switch Device wizard in DM. Can I just use my current tour and begin the wizard, then when it's time to switch, run to the store, exchange, then return home and plug in the new one and continue from there?

You should be able to do it that way.

Or you could do a manual backup of your data and then restore to the new device. If you're worried about 3rd party applications, follow these steps:

I swapped Tours as well. DM 5.0 made it a seamless process.

Should I wipe the device before swapping at the store?

Create a backup first. But yeah, I would do a security wipe before it gets into their hands.

Swapped. Guy at the store was hesitant at first to start opening boxes to find a Tour that had a tight battery cover and perfect keyboard, but I made it perfectly clear that he was going to do just that, so he did. New one's battery door is tight and keyboard is great. Just before I handed him my old one, I wiped it, and he looked at me like he was disappointed that he wouldn't be able to snoop around my emails and phone logs. It was funny.

He was probably after your media files... You formatted the memory card too, right?

No, I had already put my old 8GB card in the Tour, so when we decided to swap, I pulled both cards and put my 8GB in the new one.

Just two. Told him to bring out one made in Canada and one made in Mexico, as it seems from other posters that Mexico built Tours have good battery doors. Sure enough, the Canada one was loose and the Mexico one was tight.

At this point, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the loose door. Just luck.

I pulled my battery door and noticed mine has pieces of tape or something at the bottom as another user posted doing himself. This was new in box so it's from the factory. The door isn't perfectly tight but feels fine to me. I am wondering if people are being knit-picky with these loose doors or are some REALLY loose?

To me, the door is a minor issue

I ended up exchanging my first Tour and the Second Tour (Mexico Produced) still has a loose battery door, however it is a little better. I ended up exchanging my first one because it failed to charge overnight twice resulting in a dead battery when I was off to work.
