Default NUM lock issues 8130

Please Login to Remove!

I have a client who has an 8130 he is constantly putting the NUM lock on the device where it actually says and stays to NUM in the top right. When he goes to dial it dials letters and when typing it only types numbers. I can always figure out how to get it off by hitting combos of the alt and shift key, but I can never duplicate the issue on his device to figure out the exact sequence of how to remove it. Holding down alt and shift does not do this either it just does what this does once it does not lock it up. Thanks

Finally figured this out. When the phone is locked and the trackball is pressed to say unlock, emergency call or cancel if the shift key is held and the alt key is pressed the num lock comes on and can only be removed by pressing the alt key. That is the only way to get the num lock to come on. Does anyone know how to remove that feature or prevent it from happening, other than not locking the phone?

Nevermind...the issues he is creating causes numlock to show up but when he goes into dial a number only letters show up until the alt key is pressed and the num lock comes off. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE??

I have a question. Why is he pressing that particular key sequence in the first place? The sequence to unlock is * SEND. The shift key is # on the other side of the keyboard, and SEND is at the top of the column from ALT.

We have this problem all the time. It happens in pocket. And we always forget how to change it back. It's not intuitive at all.

I've gotten it to come out of lock mode trying various key combos - but can never remember which one it was. I usually end up doing a battery pull.
