I just brought a Torch 9800 from the USA and am using it on MTN South Africa Network. I have a blackberry BIS plan, which gives me unlimited web browsing. For any streaming/downloads, I need to pay normal data rates.
I have downloaded the latest service books.
The problem is that as soon as I go into the web browser, I lose the 4 dots next to the 3G symbol.
It obviously is not using BIS on the browser with the the 9800, and therefore, charging me normal data rates instead.
Do you think I would be able to rectify the problem if I get an old 9700 and transfer my service books over the the 9800, or do you think that I need to wait until MTN has released service books compatible with the new webkit browser?
