Default OEM Launcher Holster

Does anyone here still use the OEM holster? I've never had a problem with it launching my 8700 on to the ground but I've seen it happen to other a few times. I keep going back to it because I can't find a holster that will hold the BB plus an extended battery for it and will not stick off my belt like a brick. Does such a holster exist for my needs?

I still use the OEM holster, and I've got a BestSkinsEver shield on my 8700c. I've never launched it with my hands, although one time I was lifting a couch and as we hoisted it up my forearm slid against the BB in its holster, shooting it out onto the hardwood floor. No damage at all though, and no scratches because of the shield. I had a great neoprene holster for my 7290, but I too have not been able to find another holster I like. My boss has this one, but I can't bring myself to use something with a flap. It makes me think of velcro shoes.

I just started using the following: SWIVEL CLIP HOLSTER (SPRING CLIP TYPE) with SLEEPER FUNCTION NOT FOR SKINNED 8700C/8700R - HLBB8700CAS from Seidio as I found the BlackBerry OEM leasther pouch to bulky.

finch, I was really interested in that holster but I read a review somewhere (I think on this forum) that it wound up scratching the hell out of the Berry after awhile of use because of the way it is inserted. I'd be interested to know what your experience is with it.

From what I can tell, the problem is with the gray-painted 8700c and it occurs with both the Launcher and the Seidio holsters.
I have the Seidio holster which I use with my 8700r and have had no scratching problems.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I still usr the "launcher." The only problem that I've ever had with it are the clips that hold the BlackBerry in breaking.

The second of the three 8700c's I've had had a different holster -- it didn't have the tabs, it was solid. I'm sort of kicking myself now for not keeping that holster when I exchanged that 8700c for my third and final one. I haven't run across another 8700c holster that was solid on the sides like that.

I have also been looking for a good swivel holster to replace the OEM plastic holster for my 8700g. I just recently received Seidio's swivel holster for the 8700g, and I LOVE IT! It holds the device much tighter due to the clip at the top, and it's made of a thicker plastic and is sturdier than the OEM 8700 holster. But it does not increase the bulk of the device when clipped to a belt.
Don't think it will fit the 8700 w/ extended battery though. But I highly recommend this holster. Everything about it is perfectly made.

I dont have the extended battery but I actually think it might fit it. The battery cover is fully exposed.
