I am coming from an IPhone...getting back to my Blackberry roots.
I had been utilizing the text message feature on the IPhone and had grown to relying on it daily. Now that I have my 8800 I can not seem to get my text messages to work. I go into the text message icon and send one to a contact (their phone number) and it has a check mark next to it confirming it was indeed sent but it never gets to the person. Same thing on the reverse end...text message sent to me but i never receive it.
Is there something I am doing wrong or some setting I have set that is preventing me from using this feature. Is it possible that with the recent change back to my Blackberry (new sim card) that the text messages are going somewhere else???

Also, check Options >Security Options >Firewall and make sure sms is not blocked.

And make sure you have text messaging on your plan. Happened to me and the text was turned off for some reason.
