Question Style 9670 and PlayBook 32GB

Please Login to Remove!

I'm planning to purchase a 32GB PlayBook now. Will I be able to easily upgrade it to OS 2.1? From what I've read, my 9670 phone should sync and bridge fine with that? Will I be able to offload certain data from my phone so that it is only on my PlayBook permanently from then on, for example my Saved Messages from my phone?

You will be able to upgrade to the latest OS, assuming it isn't already running it, but checking for updates is an automatic part of the setup procedure. How easy it is depends on you. I think it is easy, most people think it is easy, I believe, but there are still some who struggle, as is always the case no matter what. If it is a wifi version of the PlayBook make sure you have wifi available before you start the setup.

You will not be able to move files directly between the PlayBook and the BlackBerry handset, unless there is an app that does this, which I don't know about. I really doubt there could be anyway to put saved messages from the handset on the PlayBook. But stock out of the box you will be able to access files that are on the BlackBerry handset when bridge. And you can use either the onboard email app or the bridge email app.

What about this Files and Folders app I hear about? Can it move Saved Messages from my phone to my PlayBook permanently??

No.
That's part of the security design. Once you disconnect the bridge, there is no content e-mail content available to the PlayBook.

What type of e-mail account are you trying to connect to?

Both aol and gmail. Thank you for your help! I specifically wished to periodically house my Saved Messages on my PlayBook if possible.
