I have Unloacked AT&T 8310 and was using phone in India on GSM network. I had a nightmare with the latest 4.5.110 version as my phone kept on rebooting while on call. I finally rolled back to 4.2.2 and things seem fine now.

Please keep 4.2.2 device software handy before upgrading. But the upgrade except this is great, addition of Video camera and Docs to Go is great.

Ok, maybe I am dense. I did the update but when I go to Options/About it still says v4.5.0.110

Ugh, the system allegedly did. It turned off my phone and it looked like it was doing the update. I guess I will try again.

Ok, when I double click on what I downloaded it asks me if I want to repair it or remove it. I did repair it, is that the right one?

Ok, I am frustrated. I have done all the previous updates without any problems and now this one is doing this. It showed like it was doing the update but it does not show the new os. It did the wizard and everything.

Go into Add/Remove programs and delete all instances of any BB OS you have installed then reinstall it.

The only thing I see there is:

BB Desktop Software 4.7
BB Device Software v4.5.0 for the BB 8310 smartphone
BB Media Sync

Hey JSanders. I have a Curve 8310 with Rogers. I just upgraded my OS to 4.5.0.81. Is this one newer or older than the on that you have posted here and would it be worthwhile to re upgrade?

when I connect to blackberry desktop manager it says its up to date... but obviously there are newer versions posted on these forums

should I upgrade the OS to the newer versions or will it not make much difference?

Just a note, I think it's burried in here somewhere, for those of you who have a BB through work and the IT folks take care of it, when you update your phone to the new OS, it may wipe out your work e-mail. That's what happened to me. Waiting to have the conversation with the "support guy" on why I performed the update on my own. Whooops! My e-mail that came through prior to the OS update were still "on the BB", but nothing new came through after and it's not syncing up now to the calandar, nor address book. So, think prior to doing the update, I probably should have.

I wasn't having any issues with the BB, but did want to do the video and do like the way the new e-mail format looks. Not sure yet what other features I'll really enjoy, that is if the "support guy" doesn't wipe me back to the stone ages.

This happens when you upgrade your OS. It will break your connection with the BES. It's always best practice to consult with your BES admin before doing anything along these lines.
