Anybody care to comment on the overall volume on the 8900 now? Does this OS increase the volume at all? I found my 8900 to be much to low sounding regardless of what ringtone or message alert I used so I switched devices as I work in noisy environments.
Lex - no increase in volume from what i can tell...
Rar9 - you cannot delete the vendor branding at all, no ways around it
no issues that i can see with this build
cannot comment on the BES activation as i have never done it... but i think if you upgrade and do a restore it should connect to the BES again without issues not sure tho

Well I must correct you.. IŽm was also connected to the BES. The Restore does a good job so that the reactivation will happen faster, but the 8900 does need a new REACTIVATION Password.
is your device password protected? you didnt really give much info on your issue for anyone to really help... you need to be more detailed has to what you are talking about and the issue you are having
Yesterday I was taking pictures without an MircoSD card. Once the memory was full I could not delete or save the taken picture. The camera also did only display a black image.
Sending the pic via Email worked.
I really had to more some of the picture to get rid of the problem.
Update on battery life. Originally the battery drain looked like it was dramatically improved but after some more standby with very light voice and text messaging it lasted about 3 days. So only an extra day compared to the 2 days ore update. I think it would only last 4 days on pure standby.
How is everyone else battery life? Is this normal for the 8900 or do I have a defective one?
Does anyone think keeping it in the oem pouch causes faster battery drain for some reason? Just upset at the advertising of 15.5days standby. I wonder what conditions they tested to get that result
Please post your battery life for comparison
Thanks
3 days is actually long. Most people use their Curve quite more and have to load the battery every night.
Its not much, but keep in mind that the BB keeps online 24/7 and this needs battery life.
Im quite satisfied with the battery of my 8900, even more with the new Firmware.
If RIM continues like this weŽll all be happy soon.
10% after 9 hours of heavy msn/emails/texting/bb im'ing/bluetooth music streaming/wifi on. I think im pretty satisfied but I was worried it would die before I got home. Time to look into a spare battery.
I bought it directly from their official website, it was only 44,95 USD but the shipping to Bucharest killed me, another 49,82 USD so in total 94,77 USD! Quiet a lot of money but I think it deserve this sacrifice
