Is anyone going to try the sugar cube trick to remove the T-Mobile logo? If you've already done it, what was the result? I'm tempted but a little apprehensive...

really only works with metal backed phones... that's plastic under the t-mobile logo

I can almost guarantee it will abrade that shiny black surface while getting off the logo.

Trust me, it does scratch the plastic. I tried it. I then cut a piece of vinyl to cover it. It actually looks good. I just hate seeing the TMOB logo for some reason.... anyone know how to take it of the startup screen?

DONT DO IT IF you mind light scratches.

I did it with my Pearl almost immediately after unpacking it. Light scratches all over where the logo was. The surface is way to soft for this trick.

Hopefully I can use some car polish on it and get rid of the light scratches.

After reading about the sugar cube trick, I decided to try and remove my T-mobile logo. Instead of using any cube though I took a black ultra fine point sharpie and colored in the logo. Looks ok, you can't see the logo anymore and can only see the faint black T-Mobile when you turn the phone to get light to reflect against the plastic area.

Had the thing one day and already want to change stuff

It took me about 15 minutes, but I managed to completely remove my t-mobile logo from my Pearl - no scratches at all. Just takes a little patience.

PS - a little hint - for those of you who have Sony PSPs, the polish cloth that came with it works perfectly for all the finger smudges on the Pearl. (If I could sew worth a lick, the cloth seems to be the perfect size to use as a sleeve). I guess any microfiber cloth'll do just fine.

i actually just took a paper clip and used the end of it to scratch off the t-mobile logo and it worked perfectly, no visible scratches. the trick is to do it light enough so it does not dig into the pearl's plastic but it does take off the painted on logo. sounds strange, i know, but it did work for me. took about 5-10 mins.

best way... took me about 5 minutes... use a the edge of a smooth penny.... only use about maybe 1lb or just enough pressure to rub it off not scratch it off!!!!
