No spam controls on the BlackBerry.

You need to control and filter the spam at your email server.

What email service are you using. I would suggest Gmail, at least you can foward your mail to Gmail. They have great spam protection.

I also highly recommend Google. I moved my domains email to Google and I now probably get 2 spam emails a month that actually make it through to my blackberry.

You can also use the Antair BlackBerry Spam Filter, available from antair.com

Are you using the carrier supplied email address by any chance?

If your answer is yes to DUBDUB's question then that could be a problem.

I second that, except I don't even get that many. Maybe a couple every few months. They're great for spam filtering.

I also highly recommend the Antair Anti Spam Filter.

If server-side filtering isn't working or is too hard to keep up with due to adaptive spammers, and discontinuing using your current email address is out of the question (i.e. I've had the same email address for years), then client-side filtering may be for you.

While it may be a tad on the expensive side and thus not for everyone, the application performs extremely well and support is top-notch.

Filtering before the email server is even better if that's an option. I use MXlogic Defender (offered by my BES/Exchange hosting provider) and after several years even its spam quarantine doesn't get much spam any more.

I am using AOL. AOL is pretty good about filtering out the spam. (well until I got the Blackberry)

Thanks for your replies.
