Default Does vzw have an updated release date?

As of noon central on 4/27, it's not on the smithmicro web site. Do any of you who have connections with Verizon Wireless been given an updated release date?

There is one major problem with OS 4.1. When you receive an entry in your phone log, they viewed on the same line or on top of one another. Not real convenient for reveiwing your phone log.

So have any of you tried this version (the link points to the version for Telstra) on a Verizon Blackberry? The click-through says it's only for Telstra in Australia, but the bbhub post talks about it working on any 7250. Has anyone had any issues using this version on Verizon?

Hot of the Presses

4.1OS for 7250 just released

http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/

Edit - Tremendous disappointment to me. I have been running the Sprint Version for two months and I just ran home to do the install and it turns out that Verizon's version is older than the Sprint one is, they took their sweet time about releasing it and its old already. All I would gain is tethering and to me it is not worth going back to gain tethering which I seldom use. I will keep the version without installing on the laptop in the event that if I am in need i can downgrade in order to tether.

Downer after a full day of anticipation.

I just installed this 4.1 version and so far it is locking up during desktop syncs ... I have taken out the battery to reset and see if it helps.

All my mailboxes appeared on the screen so thats nice

boo I think there is a bug in this upgrade - the mailboxs always ask if you want to delete from MailBox + Phone or just Phone - even with this option preset to NOT PROMPT it keeps asking .... I have tried everything I can think of.

ahh I have found the problem! when you edit the email options - under Email Reconcilition you can change the Message Services - this brings up the options for each message service, you need to change the prompt for every service and it works ok.

When you are in a mailbox it doesn't default the service so its a bit confusing.

The install went well. Just lost my connection to the BES. Had to have our IT department remove me from the server and then add back in before allowing me to activate with the Enterprise Server. About Time! Now when is the 8700 series coming out?! :(

Can somebody kindly post the "fake" number you need to enter to get the download? We have 6 users here with a mix of 7250's and 7130e's and I tried every number and combination and it STILL won't allow me to download it.

Using the BlackBerry FAQs button above and following the link to OS upgrades leads you to this:

What's the old font type used in 4.0.2? I don't like the new font type, and I can't figure out what the old font type was.

Default Step to do after you upgrade

Make sure you do a *22899 on your bb after you upgrade. It will update all of your roaming.

So whats the consensus? Sprint 4.1 or Verizon 4.1?

We havent had any problems with the sprint 4.1 on about 650 devices. Someone did report mail coming in 10 min bursts, but he is the only one of these 650. I think its his device.

I thought I had read on the forum that the 4.1 Verizon OS for the 7250 would be able to assign ring tones to people. I've loaded both the Desktop and Device 4.1 software and don't see it anywhere? Am I missing something or was it not included.

Thanks.
