I tried several IPs and some of them don't work, but this one "125.40.47.112" worked for connecting to any websites. However, Blackberry website still prompt me the same message - IP from some country that cannot download software from RIM.
Here how I set the proxy:
Internet options - connections - Lan Settings - Use a Proxy server... - and then put the ip and port.

Anything wrong with me?

Default Photos from media cards SUPER SLOW

I have media encryption on (IT policy) but I've noticed that pictures on the media card are now incredibly slow to thumbnail. They were slow but bearable under .190. Now the phone locks up as it tries to thumbnail them.

Any ideas on how to improve the situation? Other than that the update seems ok.

I have slow thumbnail generation, but not slow enough to consider the phone locked up, and I am on BES as well (don't know about encryption, though). I have discovered something different... I have added ringtones (mp3 files) to the phone's built in memory. When I view a list of files (such as in the media application), I see the ringtones listed multiple times. Odd.

The phone appears to work, but I don't know why each ringtone is listed 4 times.

Battery pull did not work. Downgraded OS...no effect. Cannot restore ringers.

that's really odd... did you delete any files other then the vendor.xlm? That's the only thing I can think of... You may be able to get it back on your original OS if you did a backup before you changed the OS.

Only deleted vendor.xml.

Did a handheld wipe and reinstall OS...no change. Deleted all 3rd party apps and reinstalled...no change. For some reason, I do not see all the data being deleted.

The only workaround is to manually add the ringers in the Ringtones folder...then it starts working.

Talked to Rogers...they are sending in a new (replacement) device.

Default Can someone walk me through this?

So I downloaded, and ran .216 and went to look for the vendor.xml file and I couldn't find it, and I even did a search for it on my computer and I couldnt find it.

I opened up the DM v4.6 and see if the upgrade would prompt and it didnt, and I also tried apploader to initiate the upgrade but this didn't work either.

What's the issue here? Everything appeared to download and run fine.

I am also getting an error when I connect my bold that there is a hardware problem and it may not work properly, but there isn't anything, to my knowledge, wrong with it.

Figured out how to fix this.

Used CrackUtil to delete the file system and performed a complete wipe. Re-installed the OS. And it works.

Called Rogers to not send in the replacement Bold.

Note that I had to reformat the memory after installing the OS to download pics/ringers.

i had the same probs with ringtones. the only way to fix it (with my bolds) was to reset to factory defaults with JL_Cmder after upgrading the OS. works fine for me.

Run the update through the DM while at on your corporate office/on your cooperate network. Never had to contact the BES guys except when I updated at home. After the update, it will force a re-sync and auto activate mechanism. Just make sure you check advanced-> enterprise activation has finished syncing all components

What OS version did you upgrade from?

When I went from .167 to .190 I lost all my profiles ..."ringers" and my notifications it was such a PITA! Another reason why I am hesistant to upgrade again.

And restoring them from an update does work either.

I upgraded from .160 to .190.

To fix this I had to wipe the handheld (incl file system) with Crackutil and then load new OS. This fixed all the ringers/notifications.

I was able to upgrade to .190 but have since gone back to .160

Isn't .162 (vs .160) the current Roger's official OS? I was on .190 for almost two months with no problems with Rogers and found that it was really good at pulling in the 3G signal. As you see I am using .216 now (and have been for over three weeks) without any significant issues. What issues did you have with .190? I would recommend .190 or .216. Both seem to work well on the Roger's network.

You're right...I should have said .162...typo.

My.162 is working very well too but i'll try .216 today.

Works like a champ on .219 for me, running BB OS 4.6.0.219 and Mac Os 10.5.6 and BT connections is awesome!
