Question 8130 Mute standby

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Pearl 8130. I always used to use the standby (MUTE) button on the top of the phone as a lock when it was in my pocket. To go into standby you have to hold the Mute button for 1 second. Then to get out of standby i would have to hold the mute button for 1 second. But this just changed, now to come out of stand by i just hit the mute button not hold it, this has caused many butt (Accidental) calls. Does anyone know what i did and how i can get it back to holding the mute button for 1 second to get it to come out of standby?
I hate the key lock option. This is why i love flip phones. (this is a work phone don't have the option.)

Have you updated your BB OS.

I'm on 4.5 and hadn't noticed that had changed...it does seem like it used to take a longer press to come back from standby.

I actually don't use standby any more...I use Autolock (http://www.geekandproud.net/blackber...k/autolock.jad) and my Pearl locks up automatically for me at a set period after the backlight ends, which I've found perfect for my uses.

I have a password set (something I think anyone w/a BB is foolish not to use - so much personal stuff on them) and autolock works great in concert with that.

I have the newest OS and my standby key works like that, just press to unlock, not sure about before the new os. If the OP hasn't changed their OS it must be something else.
