Wait, I thought you posted your gf dumped you because you were critical of the 8800's keyboard?
So let's trace your posting history:
1) You met a T-mobile RM at a party and she got you an 8800.
2) Numerous posts about how you hate the 8800, hate the keyboard, etc etc etc
3) Your gf dumped you (the Tmo Regional babe you picked up at a party just before the 8800 was released).
4) You claim your gf got a new "free" faceplate and replacement keypad for the 8800...which would be a historical event in and of itself....RIM has never done such a thing and I doubt they ever would release a major retro-fit keyboard for a device. They'd just sell thru existing stock and replace it.
I smell something.....and it doesn't smell good, either.

Wow havent posted on this forum in a while! I couldnt get the T-MO 8800 because I used my upgrade for a Dash that the wifey is using (I hated that thing) so I picked up the Cingular version and had it unlocked.
Anyone know the differences from the actual T-MO version just released?
I know all of you talked about Wi-Fi, video, and still camera. Is that it?
TIA,
MO

SydeShow, How did you get Cingular to unlock your phone? I'm hoping to be able to get mine unlocked so I can use different GPS/Navigation software.

Simple you call up customer service tell them you want the device unlocked. As an extra feture or your traveling. You rely them imei an they give you the unlock code an instructions on how to get to the promt to enter the code.

Galvatron is right about having your carrier do it. Im not a Cingular/ATT customer so what I do is take it to a local shop and they onlock all my phones. So far they have done a Sidekick 2, 3, BB7100, BB8800, Moto RAZR, KRAZR, and a couple freebie Nokia's.
My Cingular BB8800 so far has been running good on the T-MO network. I havent really put it up tp much of a task as some of you on here would. My main concern is email and phone. I love Telenav BTW
I didnt even know it had GPS!!! What would be cool is to use the GPS on the golf course so I know how far I am form the hole.

The store I bought it from says they won't unlock any phones they sell. Even when I explained that if they wouldn't unlock it I'd likely return it because I wasn't able to run software I purchased the phone to use (I'm still within 30 days, thus, no early termination fees). They told me that I would have to do whatever I would have to do.
I'll try the 800 number tonight, but I'm not optimistic at this stage. Just curious how you buy an unlocked phone in the first place?

Bart is a troll...there is no replacement faceplate for the 8800 available from Tmo, and certainly no replacement keyboard for same. Bart is making crap up and just posting inane tidbits of fabrication.

Who cares about what that mom and pops place says. If you have 30 days, you have 30 days. They lose $$$ when service is terminated within that time.
I bet once you get locked into the 2 year contract after the 30 days, they wont have a problem unlocking it.
BTW... most mom and pops shops do unlocking nowadays. Some of the smart phones and PDA's are harder to do so you will find a handfull that can unlock it. It took my guy 2 weeks to unlock my daughters Sidekick 3. Maybe it was BS but he said the phone was so new (back then) that it took a bit longer.
Good luck!

Okay, I got one of those dumb, asked a million times already, questions. Does the T-Mo 8800 do GPS?
I made a huge mistake, and bought a T-Mo Wing (made by HTC). I don't like it, and want to give it back and get an 8800 (long story short, a friend accidentally broke my 8700g).
I'm getting the 8800 regardless, just wondering whats up with the GPS.

It's not pulled. It was only taken off of upgrades. No discount to upgrade to it.
This all started by a Boy Genius or BlackBerry Cool rumor which doesn't seem to be true.
