Mine will not work in certain areas. I typically drive up Route 81 and basically once near Watertown, NY, I get "Data connection refused" but I can place/receive calls no problem.

Once crossing the boarder, I typically head out to the lake in Westport, ON and have never been able to get my data service working.

I don't want to say "It definitely won't work" because I haven't brought it with me to Ottawa, but just be aware that I have experience with it NOT working.

if you are with verizon and have unlimited data, how much do they charge you when you are in Canada using data?

Have you considered going to the VZN page to review their roaming charges?

Yes I have, and I spoke to the Verizon People on the phone. They gave me 2 different answers. One of the customer service reps said that if i get unlimited data that it includes 100MB/month of Canadian Data. Now, when I went to go buy my phone they have told me they will charge me $.002/kb for data used outside the US.

I am just wondering if anyone from the US has used their verzion blackberry in canada and noticed what the charges were.

What ever you get, it'll probibly be better than what we Canuks on Telus pay for roaming down there ($8.00/Mb billed by the kb).

PS: based on the feed back I have gotten before, we don't get EVDO when down there either.

It's supposed to, but last time I was up there in November (Toronto), all I got was "Data Connection Refused" the whole weekend, because they apparently didn't properly set me up prior to me leaving. Even though I called 3 times and they said I was good to go each time.
