Default Why is web browsing so poor?

Please Login to Remove!

My boss has a samsung i730 and I myself tested the new treo. The web browsing on the same EVDO network is way faster than my 7130. THe BB seems to choke on any sites with scripts and slows to a crawl. Im guessing the problem is the browser because the 7130 has enough beef to process it. Anyone get browsing speeds enjoyable?

I find the Browser on the 8700c with EDGE is pretty fast. It may be because of the Intel chip in the 8700. I find it faster then WM5 devices I have tested on the same network.

I find it quite fast on the 7130e when on the EVDO network. The script hangup thing may be a bug in the 4.1.0.117 revision because I have not seen it since I upgraded to 4.1.0.207.

I used to get it on CompUSA.com. It would hang up and say "Running Script" forever. Now it just loads up in about 20-30 seconds depending on network speed.

I've done bandwidth tests and gotten up to about 850 Kbps which smokes my friends Treo 650 (Non-EVDO)

Considering the type of network you are on as well as your signal strength, that decides a lot on your speed. My BB 7250 on Alltel is fast enough. I had a PPC-6700 with Alltel as well, and it was slow compared to my BB. If you have a low signal, then that could be a lot of your problem.

You'll have to delete or rename C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Vendor.xml before it will install on the handheld.

I've been runing it for 4 days or so now with no complaints. It's better and more stable than the most current software offered by Verizon.

My 7290 seems to be browsing just fine compared to my friends Treo 600. The only problem I have found is I have a hard time logging into myspace.com which my friend with the treo doesn't have a problem with.
