Default Gotta nother question..

So I have a new TMO pearl with BES and I'm trying to take a pic and email it but when I do I get "The device does not support native attatchment" is this because of the BES and if so is there anyway to get around it? I tried sending it from both the desktop and my hotmail account and nothing worked.

You cannot email it, use Desktop Manager and Media Manager to move it to your desktop.

I may have misread your first post--you stated you were trying to email and send from the desktop? Is the picture on you desktop or the BB?
And yes, there could be IT policy restricting it.

No, you can't attach a picture from your Pearl and send it, at least I cannot do so from the one I have. There is NO option when composing an email to attach a picture or image.

Is that option to attach a picture available with BES?

Well it has to do with BIS as well, as the Pearl I have, does not allow a picture attachment to an email... does not even give the option. It allows an address attachment is all.

Thats weird. On my TMO pearl once i take a picture i scroll over to the envelope icon and a menu pops up that says SEND AS then it gives options for Send as MMS Sent to Messenger Contact (BB messenger) and Send as Email. So i click on send as email and a new email pops up i put in the address and as soon as i do it gives me that error message. I have sent pics using both the MMS which i dont like cause i dont have a text messaging package and i have sent one to a bb messenger contact. And im not 100% but i could swear that before i set up my BES that i had sent one through email. So i think im going to call my IT and see if they know anything.

That’s how I send my photos. Some BES restrict the ability to send photos to protect company information.

I got an answer. Apparently due to my BES my IT policy does not allow this feature as of yet they are talking about upgrading the server to allow it. I did speak with TMO and they told me basically the same thing. As a side note ive been with nextel for about four years and just switched to TMO in the last week and i am extremely impressed with thier customer service she told me that she could not help me but as a consolation she gave me 200 bonus minutes on mine and my wifes phone. I dont think i would have ever got that extra 110% from Nextel.

wow, lol, i'm calling TMO about mine too...

Oh well, back to Post #2, you should be able to move it via Media Manager, or maybe even use BB Messenger to send to Messenger buddies IF the IT policy allows that. Last night, I tried sending photos from my wife's Pearl to my 8700, no go via email as I have stated, I ended up using BB Messenger to transfer and it worked like a charm... although everyone does not have Messenger.
