Man that would be great if true. I would expect a little more buzz/info if it was that close though

VZW reps usually hear about new products a month before release as this is when they get traning on the new device.

I called and checked with my rep today, and they have no knowledge of the Curve, but she told me she has only heard rumblings of the pearl, and that it may be several months as she saw someone with it, but it was a test version...

I would love a Curve, but it seems like we just have to keep waiting...

Amazing how when we were kids Christmas could not come fast enough and here we are waiting still...older with bigger toys...

I spoke to my VZW rep and he does not know anything about the curve. He said if it comes out anytime soon it will be the end of the year.

VZW really needs to better inform their staff ;)

Well, it may not be the curve, but one down, and only one more to go...

I rather be getting closer then moving further away any day...

FWIW, as mentioned in that link, the 8130 will be released in November. Expect the 8330 in 2008 ...would say mid to late Q1 at the earliest.

That's disappointing. I wonder why there is such a gap.

IMO, because they want to sell a bunch of 8830's and 8130's first!

pk the curve has been out for less than 3-4 months the unforunate reality is you oing to wait at least a year form now for it to come out. the next xx30 for verizoff is the 8130 not the 8330.
Not only do you have to redesign the firmware but you also need a new type of circut board with extra components thats gonna take more than 6 months.

unless vzw or vodaphone see the ibrick as a threat or unluss sombdy with a lot of stock puls some puppet strings considder your hopes dashed an wait a year.

I was in Verizon today, 8/21 and the Rep I always work with showed me photos of a Pearl for Verizon that was due out before year end. It was the same color as the 8830, silver, and it did have a camera. I saw the photos myself. Hopefully they won't delay it forever like VZW usually does.

Hey Galvatron,

How do you know that the BB 8330 Curve "probably won't be out until the end of next summer?"

Have heard that it will probably be available in Canada during Q4 of 2007, in time for Christmas.

Please clarify. Thanks.

I'm curious why Verizon didn't choose to have BlackBerry as their more popular devices.

Are Verizon BlackBerry plans terrible?

Do most Verizon customers dislike the Camera? Are they mostly Corporations?

Does it matter that CDMA / EVDO devices suck a lot of battery power compared to GSM / EDGE devices? (UMTS and HSDPA also sucks battery power like crazy)

Who knows what the Corporate Head of New Devices at Verizon is thinking?
