Default Palm Centro Leaked Official Shot

Please Login to Remove!

From Gizmodo

The Palm Centro has been courting much attention lately thanks to a host of blurry pictures and news of its diminutive stature. Today we have the first (leaked) press photo shot of the device and it does not look half bad.

We have no news in the way of clarified specification from that of what has already been reported. The main details are; the device shall run on EVDO and it shall be pitched at the youth market. Further, the full QWERTY keypad will be complimented by a touchscreen and the price will be a speculated, very reasonable, $99. Sprint shall have exclusive rights for 90 days, after the 90 days mark a free for all shall likely ensue.

The new picture shows a sophisticated looking device, not only will it be the smallest Treo to date, but the supposed youth market orientation may have been altered from earlier suggestions. After all, the colour scheme looks sophisticated and the youth only like their devices in a generic, iPod white plastic finish, as depicted in earlier shots. No official word on specification or release date as yet, but we will keep you posted. (Hey, it's what we do; don't sweat it).

looks like an HTC without the slide, just fit a very small qwerty on the face.
good move by Palm, and a good grab by Sprint.

HTC makes the Treo devices for Palm, so it would make sense for this one to be made by HTC as well.

Do they make all of the Treo devices or just the WM5/WM6 devices for Palm? I was under the impression that it was just the Windows Mobile devices.

It was my understanding that everything since the 600 has been made by HTC.

You might be right though.

It's just the WM stuff. Mainly because HTC have gotten good a tweaking the OS and Today screens for different types of hardware. This is a dreadful device, the keyboard will be worse than the one SE stuck on the P990.

In that size band I would go with the HTC S710 - I have one of these as my Windows Mobile 6 test device and, despite the fact it runs Windows, it's one of the best I've used.

I am going to play around with the HTC Kaiser when ATT gets them in. It has all the toys built in, so i'm curious about it.
Any one have experience with the new Symbian devices? Compared to WM?

x2 on the Kaiser/Tilt/8925. I just hope the battery is somewhere near the performance of my BlackJack

From what I hear, Symbian UIQ3 is the mutt's nuts, but I have yet use a device with it. I've always loved Series 60 though, so I'd imagine it's even better than that.
