Maybe if you wrapped it in Tin Foil, it would work on Verizon.

BlackBerry OS 6, 5 mp camera, and 512 mb of memory; otherwise exactly the same as the Bold 9700

Maybe if you wrapped yours in foil, you could get a signal from the cave.

The 9700 does all that I want and has OS 6 and is fast. If I want to take pics I use my digital camera.

Unhappy Side rails loose!

Why why why can't R.I.M make a decent product anymore? 1 week in and my side rails are already loose. Not to mention the double type keys. Ii ddont like tto alwayys return devices! With all the comp out there and their tanking share price you would think they could build a strong unit!

Until you've used the 9780 over a week - you really don't know. the speed of this is much faster; less glitches and I've yet to have an exception error vs the 9700 on v6.0.0.386 [9780 ships with a lower version]. The double memory is worth it ... no apps and I have more memory than your 9700 has ... that means more apps; less uninstalled and more stable JVM.

not worth the upgrade if your 9700 i sless than 6mths old and its suiting you well. I'd swear the battery life is slightly better with BT/WLAN/3G on.

The double tap glitch seemed to repair itself. Hmmm. Must have been software related. Rails are weak but the case negates any problems.

Speed? Well, the browser is quicker but not lightening by any stretch plus the I find the software a bit sluggish. Very short pauses b/t screens.

Still a great device but not a pancea.

Better w/ wifi on? C'mon dude.

And finally I picked up 9780 from TMO for 280.00 including "uncle sam's tip" and its taking its dinner and will be switching over to it late night. Lets see how it goes. Though my 9700+OS6 was working fine but browser was the only issue. and for this price (upgrade) I think its not bad deal. Will be selling 9700 soon.

Xion - chill out - no one knows when a carrier will release it. Your guess is as good as anyone elses. Check the rumor sites (which you do as you cut and pasted from Crackberry) and that's all you can do.

You can also call RIM at +1 877 BLK-BERR and ask them, or send an e-mail to [email address]

I am chilled. I wanted a straight up answer, just like you just gave me. Thats why number of things dont get sorted because people are worrying about saying things that dont matter.

Thanks though ;)

What's so hard to believe that battery life with 9700 on B5/6 is not as good as 9780 on BB6 with WLAN on? Seriously, what's so hard to believe? just because the 624Mhz number of cycles on the cpu is the same doesn't mean its not a rendition of the same cpu family - not the EXACT cpu.
