Default Cannot Delete Emails-Please Help

Please Login to Remove!

I have 5 emails dated September 9, 2007 that will not delete. On that date, I upgraded the OS and did a new enterprise activation. Emails on September 10 and thereafter will delete. But the 5 on September 9 will not.

I have tried:
  • Reducing the email retention time to 30 days.
  • Manually deleting the items
  • From the date line for September 9 selecting "delete prior"
  • Changing the email reconcile setting to handheld only and to Prompt
  • Deleting in Outlook and doing a reconciliation.
Nothing works. No matter what I do, the emails stubbornly remain.

Can anyone help me get rid of these items. It may seem silly, but I find it really annoying.

Did you pop the battery? Popping the battery solves a variety of unsolvable problems......

Turn off wireless email synchronisation and connect it to the desktop manager. Under backup and restore you can (I think its in Advanced) select "Messages" and then cleear them.

Don't follow this exactly as I am talking from memory here. That will of course delete all messages, also the ones you may want to keep.

That's the best solution I can come up with. Good luck.

Are you sure that you didn't save them? Menu>Options>View Saved Messages. If they are listed you may delete them from that screen.

Why is it necessary to turn off wireless synch to use Backup/Restore? I thought you only had to turn of wireless synch to do a wired reconciliation.

If I try that (a connected reconciliation) will I "break" the wireless sycnh, or can I simply turn it back on?

Thanks

You can turn it back on when done.

Well, I just tried it and it works even if you don't turn the wireless off.

I had a similar problem with not being able to delete certain contacts and for that I had to turn the wireless synchronisation off first otherwise the "Address Book" area in the Desktop Manager - Backup and Restore - Advanced was greyed out.
