Default Google calendar syncing

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I've used the search and checked the FAQ's. I haven't found a definitive answer and some of the info has created new questions in my mind.

1) Is there a way to enable "Wireless Syncronization" for calendars that AREN'T supported by a BES server? I am connected to a BES server to my corporate email/calendar server. I would like to enable this for a personal gmail calendar that I use.

2) Is Gsync the only way to enable Gmail sync of calendar to a BB? I don't really like adding more apps than I need. If I need to, I will. Seems I should be able to use Wireless Sync to Google though. The emails are working fine. I have no issues with gmail email sync. It's working just as I want.

3) If I install Gsync, will it override my current address book on my BB? I sure as hope not, but I saw someone asked that question.

4) If I do install Gsync, how "low-profile" is it? I tried an app years ago, and everytime it would sync, it would bring the BB to its knees until it was done. That was a much older BB and speeds were much slower though.

Oh, info:
BB 8310 4.5 on AT&T.
BES connected.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Whether it will work or not will most likely be determined by the IT Policy on your device if you are connected to a BES. Keep in mind that you should consider that there is no personal/private info on a BB connected to BES.

I would check the company policies for use before you try anything. Given these economic times, companies are looking for any excuse to terminate employees.

I second that dub. My compa y just let go 10 employees for sending a joke.

As to the question I tried using gsync and it did just that synced work and personal all on my phone AND on g cal. I now have to go on my gcal and delete all of my meetings and calls.

Our IT dept has no policy. They don't care how we use the BB's.

TotalTech, are you saying all the items from your corporate email and calendar got sync'd with the Google calendar? That seems rather stupid how it does that.

I just want to be able to keep track of both and not have the data merged into the diff calendar systems.

Thanks all.

Merged them both into one calendar no matter how I had them separated

It you're on a BES I don't recommend google sync. It did a number on my calendar entries in Lotus.

Thanks TsDuke03 and TotalTech. I don't want my corporate calendar combined with my Google calendar. Guess that nixes that idea.
