I found the work around for us early adopters on OS 4.5 (from another forum)

Navigate to https://mobile.etrade.com/mobilepro/...eMobilePro.jad

*Make sure you include the 's' in 'https' and the capitalization DOES matter.

Does the streaming quote work? I download and install and everything work fine except no streaming quote.

I can not figure out where to download this, I've gone to the link from my blackberry (etrade.com/mobile), but it doesn't give me the option to download anything. I have the curve, and an ETrade account, any ideas?

dm4758: See my earlier post above. That seemed to work for a number of us.

Thanks for the reply, I had (unsuccessfully) tried your suggestion, I ended up speaking with tech support, and they directed me simply to mobile dot etrade dot com (I believe), which worked as far as downloading the app.

Now I am running into a new problem, it says there is some kind of error or something with their server when I load the app, so I will be speaking with them again today. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I'd give my link another try. Its quite long and the post truncates it on the display. Try right-clicking the link and copying it, then email that to your phone. I just tried it and it took me straight to the download. BTW- what version did you install? The link takes you to version 1.3.

Alternatively, you may have some security settings set incorrectly if it installed properly, or if you are on a BES there may be some security settings there that are blocking the app from working correctly.

Good luck and let us know.

I copied the link, and emailed it to myself, downloaded the app (it was the one I already had, it replaced my previously downloaded one). Installed again, rebooted my blackberry, and am running into the same problem, it says:

"ERROR: We're sorry, but we're experiencing difficulties reaching the E*TRADE Mobile Pro System. Please call 1-800-ETRADE-1 (1-800-387-2231) for assistance."

Also I am not on a BES (I don't think so anyway, I'm not linked to my corporate email, yet, just gmail).

Hmm, well, don't take this the wrong way, BUT:

1) Do you have a data plan? (I assume yes since you were able to download)
2) Do you have full EDGE signal on your phone? (Again, probably yes bc you were just able to download)
3) Are you getting that message when you first start the program? (When the status bar is zooming accross the screen, or when you try to log in with your username/pwd?)
4) When you go to Settings/Advanced/Applications/Etrade - Edit Permissions
a) Connections should all be set to "allow"
b) User Data should all be set to "allow"
c) Interactions "Custom" - Keystroke Injection and Browser Filtering "Deny", Security Timer Reset "Prompt", the rest "Allow"

1) yes, unlimited (the 19.99/month plan)
2) yes, I am at home and connected via WIFI
3) The program loads (the status bar is full, and it waits for ~1 minute, then the error message pops up
4) I followed your instructions, and changed the settings to mirror yours (there were 2 I believe I had to change), yet am getting the same error message when I load the app.

Once I click the "ok" button, it proceeds to the program like normal, i.e. I see the menu at the top with settings, news, markets etc. The area below that, where I assume quotes, balances etc. should be, is completely white.

When I use the menu to attempt to log in, after I enter my account info, I get the same error message from my previous post. I was planning on speaking with them Friday, but was slammed at work, so I will attempt to speak with them tomorrow if this is still unresolved.

dm: Did you purchase your phone directly from T-Mobile? I ask because if you got it from your company or from someone else, it is possible that a security policy was left on it. Otherwise, other than calling ETrade, i would recomend deleting the app, battery pull, reinstall the app. They will probaly have you do that anyway.

Good luck

Yes, it was purchased from T Mobile. I will try the delete/battery pull/reinstall and let you know. Thank you for all the help so far.
