I believe 5.1.1.15 is the latest version for BlackBerry 8310.

From your BlackBerry...

h t t p : / / o t a . t e l e n a v . c o m / o t a / a t

It will probably say AT&T Navigator 1.5.1 as the version... but it's really Telenav

Correct... I should have indicated that.
User was asking about Telenav proper, I shouldn't have confused the matter.

I disagree. I think the AT&T Navigator may have better features, but they don't work properly. And their routing is worse.

Which features don't work properly on the AT&T Nav? I'll test them on my end today.

Go to Atlanta and look for a Wal-Mart in the Mt Paran area. When you get there, it's an apartment complex... I think I'm going to try out Garmin for a bit.

Try getting anywhere in Atlanta! It doesn't matter if you choose Fastest Route, Shortest Route, Prefer Highways, Prefer streets, this thing will not take you where you want to go.

When I select Shortest Route, for example, if I am 25 miles away from my total destination, it will give me directions for a route that is 30 miles. Once I make the correct turn that it didn't suggest and it recalculates the route, it tells me the total distance to my destination is now less! How did it think it was giving me the shortest route to begin with!

AT&T Navigator has made me so angry so many times, that I feel like opening up the car door and smashing my BlackBerry on the asphalt as hard as I can.

I am also thinking about giving Garmin's service a try.

hmmm....i'm not too fond of telenav, but i did it anyway to go hand in hand with the 8310 i bought (built-in GPS). i bought my fiance a garmin for her upcoming birthday, let's see how that treats her....i have a feeling it'll be overall better at navigating than this telenav stuff is. if that's the case, then i'll probably sell my curve and wait to get the 9000 when my contract is due with tmo early next year.

You do not have to use TeleNav. Garmin has a GPS program for BlackBerry now for the same price $10/month! I have the curve 8310 as well.

Telenav doesn't work so great in the Cleveland/Akron area either. It fails to reckognize major road closures that have been closed and re-routed for over 6 months now, nor does it give daily current fuel prices, they are 2 weeks behind.

I've not experienced these issues with bad directions in my area.

Does Garmin have a trial period or any way to try before I buy. Only thing I see is the $99 price. I can't even find the $10/mo. Can someone like me?

I finally found it in case someone else is looking for it. They really bury this link.

Garmin Mobile: Take a free test drive on your GPS-enabled BlackBerry | Garmin

Well, I got Garmin loaded on my BB but can't use it cuz it says it isn't registered for the trial period. Now this really sucks. I can't figure out how to register the product, I think their website is difficult to navigate and I can't even open the application to see if it's just a setting there I need to change.I don't think Gamin wants my business.

I think their auth server must have been temporarily down cuz it started working and I'm really impressed. It is the first map that took me the back way out of my neighborhood and it actually took me through some short cuts I've never known. Telenav and Garmin are now neck and neck for my bucks$$$

They are both simple to use and accurate... That's what I need.

They both seem to be very good. I just preferred Telenav's maps as I found them easier to quickly interpret at a glance but I'm probably just used to them versus the Garmin maps.
