Yeah I ordered a 7290 already and thats what I better get. If they wanted to sellout of the 7280s they should have waited to release it and make the announcement later.

I spoke with my Cingular rep yesterday and they are definently coming in. Mine is a touchy issue due to my employer covering the data part of the service and I will cover the mobile aspect. So I am not slated to get mine till the 15th of Nov. Hopefully they will be in by then, since I had my rep go ahead and put my name down for one.

The 7290 is back on the Cingular website (at least for the Atlanta market). There is no "will ship after <date>" disclaimer (maybe they learned their lesson) ... maybe this is the launch ??

The order status tool is down, so I can't determine the status of my 7290 that was ordered on 10/2/04.

Funny...it's bck up on the Atlanta market but here in San Diego it's still the 7280. I hope they get this solved soon.

The cingular site is just strange. The Order Status page now goes to a page not found, when it used to just say it was down and give a phone number. The other day I typed in my zipcode to view a coverage map, and I live in FL. It gave me alabama!! The site is slow as all get out too, one of the worst Ive seen out of all the carriers.

Perhaps the reason we don't see the 7290 in the California markets is due to the T-Mobile acquisition of the California & Nevada Cingular Wireless networks ?

It appears other markets are reporting the 7290 as "available"

Additional information regarding the acquisition:

Finally got a hold of cingular today and they tell me it is shipping. Apparently I had a number porting issue that was just sitting around waiting for someone to send an email to say it was finished. Man is Cingular's support bad. Nice people, but they all have no clue what the other one is doing.

Is Cingular about to adjust their unlimited BlackBerry monthly rates to be competitive with what T-Mobile is charging ($20.00)?

I would think that since their rates are the same as ATT and VZW, they will not change from the 49.99 price point.

Default Fellow NYC People

Has anyone in NYC found a retailer in Manhattan that has the 7290 available for sale?

Yahoo, yipii-yai-yay!

Just spoke to Ken at Karbonsystems. They got the word yesterday at 4PM that the 7290s would be shipped to Karbonsystems today. I placed my order, and was told I should receive my 7290 by the middle of next week. Ken knows what he's talking about (vs Cingular), and was very helpful. I'd reccomend him over your Cingular rep.

Now that i have more than 50 posts, and am about to receive my first Berry, maybe Guess can tell me about getting the 4.0 OS.

Can't hardly wait
