Hello all,

I can not seem to resolve this problem. I am new to BB messenger and am having problems receiving messages. I am able to ping and send messages to those in my contact list (it shows up on their device no problem) however when they respond to my messages I do not receive anything on my device.

Are you or your buddies on a BES?

First--pull your battery on the BB while it powered on, hold for 30 seconds, replace and reboot. See if it works, it may.

If still not, Delete a contact, and any converstions from them, and reboot the BB again. Try adding that contact by BY the PIN, not the email option.

See if you can receive messages.

Also, you can add yourself as a contact and send a test message to your self.

We are all on the same server through work. I have tried doing a hard reset by removing the battery for 30 sec. but that had not resolved the problem. I also added all 3 contacts through their PIN and not through email. I can't figure out why they are able to receive all PING's and messages from me yet I am not able to receive any of their responses.

Do they get D's or R's on their responses on their end as if the messages are delivered and/or read?

So, since you are all on the same BES... try the above as suggested. Just try one outside your BES then.

I added my self as a contact and sent a PING. It shows a check next to the message with a D above it.

But you never received the message back? "D" means the message delivered to the handheld.

What is your free memory? Look in Options >Status

When I sent the PING to myself it shows a check with a D above it and the icon next to my name shows a face with a clock over it, however I did not receive the PING.

You have not yet pulled the battery while powered on, as was suggested, have you?

If it's truly 193 kb then you are out of memory. Usually a hard reset restores much free memory. Can you post the exact number under "file free?"

I have tried pulling the battery out multiple times over the last week however it does not seem to do anything. My contacts are still able to receive all of my PING's and messages however their responses do not show up on my device.

The exact number listed on File Free is: 19319344 Bytes. The file total number lists: 63438848 Bytles.

We're just trying to help, and having seen this occur before, in this manner, is why I have made the suggestions I have. Just now, during this thread, have you removed the battery while powered on, and rebooted the device?

I did just try pulling the battery again and leaving out for 30 sec. I went back into the blackberry messenger app and looked at the message I sent to myself. It still has a check with a D above it and th face next to my name in the current conversation list shows a smiley face with a clock over it.
