I have upgraded 4 of these 7100t/7105t units (all on corporate BES) to HK 4.1 and have no problems whatsoever. I don't manually do the Enterprise Activation. I let it activate automatically. I make sure my computer is connected to the corporate email server first, via my company vpn, as if I was going to open my Outlook. Then I plug in the handheld and run the desktop manager. It should say "connected" and "online" and then update the BB software. When the upgrade is finished I leave the unit plugged in for a few more minutes. The Enterprise Activation begins automatically and takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Once it's started you can unplug the handheld and it will do the activation OTA. Again, I've done 4 so far with no errors whatsoever. It works great! Lots of nice features, too.

Does any know if there's a Chiense version 4.1OS available right now? The one in CSL is a multilanguage version but not supporting Chinese.

Thank you all for the information that you provide on these forums
OK im jumping into this thread way too late and dont have time to read all these jumbled posts. Since you have the Tmobile 7105t, or anyone who does.can you walk me step by step on how to get this os on my BB. I hate 4.0.29. I mean go from what link I click, I'm guessing Hong Kong, but what version do I click cause there are no 7105t's on there. Anyway, can you just take me step be step.

supposedly you can take the chinese module from OS 4.0, do a little bit of ALX editing and add it to the CSL release. someone on these forums did this - might want to search for chinese.

Default Messenger Problem

I also just upgraded to 4.1 HK on a 7105t. All IM clients fail to operate now. At sign in they give a message which says "The application Instant Messaging has requested a sms connection to 4670" The port number is variable depending on IM client. I hit "Allow connection" and it sticks around at 20% until it gives a pop-up that says "Communication error. Please try again or check your settings."

I get some gibberishy messages in my message box that correspond to the attempt to login. The message will contain number and letter strings. Buried in there is the word "successful" and also the phrase "internal server or network error"

Can anyone offer a clue?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

I'm usually the first to grab new software, but I'm going to pass. If my 7100t were to get any *slower*, I might die. How useful is the browser update?

Besides, ever since I found the OTA download of the small icons theme, it feels like a new phone anyway.

Default Where did you find 4.1.256?

Are you referring to the desktop software or the application software? I have not seen anything for the 7105t newer than 40.2.xx for the BB itself...

One big issue though. Sporadically my "recent calls" list and more importantly all SMS's in "Messages" are deleted. After wading through everything in Settings the only thing I could think to change was "Number of Previous Items" (under SMS) which I set to 50. The thought was maybe the old SMS's on my SIM card were confusing the phone making it delete the newer ones?
In any case that didn't work either and now I fear losing unread SMS's. Does anyone have any ideas? Or is it time for a downgrade?

Thanks.

Here is the link for the Chinese 4.1

http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=29716

If you do a quick search for OS 4.1 you will find TONS of threads regarding step by step installation of this OS.

Also, on the HK site. There is no 7105t. You use the 7100g version.

In speaking with our Account Manager and a Sales Tech, they stated that the 4.1 Handheld Software Release would be available by the end of the month. Since it is the end of the month, I would expect it to be not much later that mid-April.

Slightly off topic but how many posts do you need to have before the redactor stops stripping out content?

and since it is almost May... hmm.

I would like the upgraded software, but after trying the Hong Kong version and having enough problems to revert to 4.0, I'm torn.

Default "Server Busy" message using 4.1

I just installed the T-Mobile 4.1 software on my 7100t ( previuosly had the Hong Kong version of 4.1). Works great, with one exception:

When trying to use the bookmarks I had previously added to the browser myself, I get an " error 503 Service Unavailable" messgage. the pre-installed bookmarks ( google, ESPN, T-Zones, etc) all work fine.

I also experience this error message when typing in a URL from the browser or from Berry 411 plug-ins.

I have re-booted ( battery out and back in), synced with the desktop manager, changed themes, and resent my service books with no success.

I did search the forums for info on this, but had no luck.

Any insights?

Thanks in advance!
