wmt,
That is a little out of my league, maybe another member can help you with that.

Right now I still get a copy back when I send an e-mail from my bb. I have not been able to make that filter setup work correctly.

I am talking about forwarding all Gmail and saving mail sent from the BB while avoiding the problem of receiving on the BB the sent-mail that you bcc'ed back to Gmail. --I can do all of this except I do get a copy back of sent e-mail.

wmt - i'm thinking if u set up a filter for each of the email accts that are forwarding to ur gmail acct, u'll, obviously, receive the email on your BB as well.

Forwarded email acct to your gmail acct scenario:

RECEIPT:
[email address] > [email address] [filter: [email address] fwd to [email address]] > [email address] -END

REPLY:
[email address] > [bcc: [email address]] -END

purposes of the BCC at the BIS side is 1) so that your get a copy of your reply in gmail and 2) to prevent your reply from being sent to the BB that you just sent from. with the TO: filter set up on the gmail side, it ignores the incoming BCC and is a part of the formula in not sending a duplicate email to your BB.

hope this helps because my brain hurts...who's on first again?
Chris

That is why I bailed out- I can't think about this too much- I just follow the directions and not too good at that because....I still get the copy sent back when sending from BB.

Is anyone using this setup and not getting the copy back to the bb?

I have been using the setup for a long time but just delt with the copy coming back to me. I have rewritten the filters a few times and it still does not work. Everything else is great except that.

john - u should have the filter on gmail set to foward to your [email address] acct.

in BIS u should have your Auto BCC set to your gmail address.

sounds like the gmail acct is not filtering right or you don't have your gmail in the Auto Bcc of BIS. make sure you put your blackberry addy in the To: field. that's the only filter u should have for gmail.

BIS: Profiles > Auto BCC. don't get mixed up with filters in the BIS. u should not have a filter setup in BIS for the basic purpose of this setup.

Pay attention to the order of the filters. I beleive that is really critical and is noted on my page. That could be it. If you rewrite the filters I think it changes the order.

Thanks for the help.
I have BIS set to Auto BCC to my gmail account (just checked to be sure)
No BIS Filters.

I have these two filters set up in Gmail:

First:
Matches: from:(john@myaddress.com) Sent wirelessly via BlackBerry
Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "BLACKBERRY SENT"

Second:
Matches: in:inbox
Do this: Forward to [email address]

I have forwarding disabled.
That is how I read in the Stinsondog directions to do it.
I considered this "forwarding" since it is pushing a copy to the BB.
Any problem there? Maybe I have been doing it wrong all this time and should actually be "forwarding".

I am really confused now and ready for the drink!!

After reading the directions ( on Stinsondogs tip site) again I see that the second filter is not listed. It was when I did the set up originally a long time ago. The goal of the 2nd filter was to get a copy of sent mail into outlook via POP.

Is the above correct? I get a copy of my sent e-mails (from bb) back and can't fix it.

Thanks,
John

My apologies, I got tied up all afternoon.

Multiple messages from a POP account is the issue to which I was referring. [I had 14 messages in my yahoo box last night, and this morning, I have 965 messages in my blackberry box (the same 14 messages over and over).] Your initial message sounded similar - but later on you clarified. I think we're discussing two different things. Sorry for any confusion.

I blew up everything and started over from scratch. I used the "nomerac" instructions on Stinsondog's website.

It is working now!

The only problem I have is that the reply-to address is my G-mail account. Can I change that to my account name ( [email address]) without messing anything up or does it have to be the gmail address?

Thanks.

john - if you are replying to a message on your BB and want it to go to a different address other than the gmail address then you should change your Auto BCC in BIS to the email addy you want it to go to.

if you do that, you won't see a reply to the email in your gmail mailbox.

Reply to email via BB sequence:
Copy in Sent folder on BB > BCC to [email address] -END

What I am trying to do is this:
When people open an e-mail from me the reply to address is john@mycompany.com not john@gmail.com.
All of my e-mails eventually go into g-mail, I just want it to show up as my company e-mail in case I ever leave gmail. I do not want people to have to change my e-mail addy, that is the reason I bought a domain in the first place.

In the directions, step 1 says to set reply to addy in BIS to your gmail acct.

John,

<<<Step 1 - In BIS (Profile), set Auto BCC on and direct the messages to your GMail account. The reply-to address for messages sent from your BB should be your GMail account, e.g. [email address]>>>

I tried this using [email address] on Auto BCC and [email address] on my reply-to address and it worked fine with no problems.

I made the change and we will see how it works.

Thanks for the input.

When I changed this it caused an e-mail copy to bounce back to me on the BB when an e-mail was sent from the BB.

Anyone have any other ideas?
I want my reply to addy to NOT be my gmail addy--I want it to be my original e-mail address without causing a copy to bounce back after being sent from the BB.

Anyone?

John, that is too weird. I set it with a different BCC and reply-to as I mentioned and it worked fine. I didn't get any copies back.

Just to be sure:
BIS-options- reply to address- [email address] (not gmail)
BIS-profile-autobcc-send a copy [email address]

Should I change anything in the filters to reflect this change?

Filters are:
First filter:
Matches: from:(john@gmail.com) Sent via BlackBerry from Cingular Wireless
Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "Blackberry Sent"

Second filter:
Matches: in:inbox
Do this: Forward to [email address]
