Pretty sure the NEXTEL contract we signed says we cannot be involved in a Class Action. I'm sure this holds no water, as it is a right to be able to use our legal system.
I have a few updates from our "friends" at NEXTEL and RIM.

Hello Jay,
Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support.
BlackBerry actually writes our own software for the BlackBerry Handhelds. We do how ever modify it to each carrier specifications. The BlackBerry is capable of playing .WAV files but the carrier has decided for what ever reason to no include this function in their version of the software.
If wish to request this feature, you may be able to contact your carrier and request that they enable this feature in future releases of the BlackBerry Handheld Software.
If you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you again for contacting us.
Sincerely,
Robert

Jay
My name is Bruce with Sprint Nextel Online Support I received your email
regarding .Wav format ringtones I wanted to give you a call but did not
have a call back number, Unfortuntaly you have found that the BB 7100i
does not support .wav ringtones as it does state in the user manual this
issue has came to my attention several times and unfortunately as stated
in the forums you sent this is a RIM error although the Blackberry is
for business and personnal use RIM has failed to allow the Blackberry to
use its full potential. This is a issue I would contact RIM about, but
unfortunatlly there is nothing that can be done to get the blackberry to
support anything other then midi files unless you use third party
software, if you have any question please feel free to contact us at
1-800-639-611 also the website for RIM is www.RIM.com if you would like
to contact them for further assistance on the issue thanks
Bruce

Jay,
After working with several people on this issue, It has come to my attention that its not RIMxxx8217;s 7100I that does not support the .wave format but in fact itxxx8217;s the Nextelxxx8217;s browser that does not support the format. When you purchase a Blackberry you receive a user manual that show what the capabilities are for the 7100I however depending on what service you choose the capabilities may be limited, like in this example the Nextel browser does not support the .wav format which gives the error 406 xxx8220;Not Acceptablexxx8221;. Other service providers that have blackberryxxx8217;s do however allow the 7100I to support .wav format. So instead of sending a manual for each individual service provider RIM uses one manual that show what there product supports. I do apologize for the misunderstanding and have sent this email to my supiors so they can have a look at the issue at hand.
If you have any other questions feel free to email me.
Thanks,
Bruce
