I recently purchased a 7290 to replace my cingular cell phone. I have no blackberry specific features on my cingular plan. I just like the blackberry for the PDA features and since I travel to Asia the quad band is great.

My plan with cingular is voice service with the $5 medianet option.

I upgraded the 7290 (which says AT&T) to version 4.1

Now I have now WAP browser and cannot send SMS though I recieve them.

I would like to send SMS and surf lightly through the medianet plan.

Any suggestions?

Get a hold of Cingular to get them to re-send you the WAP service books - they should also be able to figure out why you can't send SMS (maybe it somehow got removed from your plan?)

Well I never had SMS on the blackberry, just on the Razr it's replacing. I would like to have all the Razr features on the BB with the addition of the BB interface, screen, and keyboard. I really don't need push email. I don't want to pay $40/month in addition to my current phone bill. My company has BES but won't support my bb becuase it is not compny owned

Is there anyway to get this?
